By June 1640, Captain Littleton, "Governor of Accomache", married the widow of Charles Harmar. She was Ann Southey, the daughter of Henry Southey, Esq. who was killed at Jamestowne in the Indian Massacre of 1622; thus two prominent families of social distinction and landed wealth were united. They had 2 sons and 1 daughter

Col. Nathaniel Littleton had no daughter Mary. Mary Walter was his MOTHER, not his wife. He married Ann (6) Southey, daughter of Henry (1) Southey and Elizabeth 'Eldy' (nn), before 1640 at Northampton Co, VA. (Ann was the widow of Charles Harmar, who may have been some sort of cousin of the Mary who m. Col. Edmund Scarburgh.) http://espl-genealogy.org/MilesFiles/site/p201.htm#i20073
