About Angel S. Nakpil
Angel S. Nakpil was a Harvard-trained architect. He served as the City Planning Commissioner of Manila during the post-war reconstruction years, from 1947 - 1949. He was a charter member of the United Architects of the Philippines, which was founded in 1975.

A renowned architect, UST- and Harvard University-trained Antonio designed the National Press Club building (Manila), and the Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT) building (Makati). His first cousin Juan Felipe de Jesus Nakpil, conferred the National Artist of the Philippines Award for Architecture (1977), is considered to be the 'Dean of Filipino Architects'.
