They Came and They Stayed by Laise Ledet has his parents as Jacques and Jeanne Melancon and Generations Past and Present has his parents as Francois and Angelique Blanchard. Ray Arcement in his site on the internet list Ambroise parents as Francois Naquin and Angelique Blanchard. In The Lafourche Country, p. 91, author, Betty Himel Boudreaux, may not be certain of the parents of Ambroise either. She didn't list any parents for Ambroise."
