About Amalia Löwy (Tauber)
Named "Malka" in honor of her paternal grandfather, Rabbi Michael Hersch Tauber (1771-1847) of Holesov.
Amalia (Tauber) Lowy (1852-1900) was the wife of Moritz Lowy (b. 1849) and the mother of eleven children. Amalia died in Budapest on 9 June 1900, age 48. PLEASE NOTE: Amalia (Tauber) Lowy and Moritz Lowy were NOT the parents of Adolph Otto Loewy (b. 1883) of Monmouth, New Jersey. He was the son of a different Moritz Loewy (1851-1929) who lived in Horepnik, Bohemia and emigrated to the U.S. in 1888. Adolph's mother was Betty (Metzker) Loewy.
