Funeral services for Mr. Alton Donald Upshaw, 78, of Farmerville were held at 2 p.m. Feb. 19 at Salem Baptist Church with Bro. Willie Cottrell officiating. Burial was in Liberty Hill-Taylor Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home of Farmerville.

Mr. Upshaw, a retired IMC employee, died Sunday Feb. 17. He was a lifelong resident of Union Parish and a member of Salem Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Fred and Emma Upshaw; three brothers; Sedrith, Frank and Charles Upshaw; one son; James Upshaw and one granddaughter; Dana Beasley.

Survivors include his wife Peggy Upshaw of Farmerville; one daughter and son-in-law: Diann and Roy Dixon of Downsville; one brother & sister-in-law: Wayne and Sue Upshaw of Garland, Texas; two sisters: Florence Goss and Maurice Farrar both of Shreveport; two grandsons: Jeremy Hensel and Corey Dixon; two granddaughters: Angie Beasley and Stephanie Dixon; one great grandson: Zackary Hensel; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
