Cindy Stamps said, on September 5, 2013 at 11:21 am Kathryn, your work is very impressive! I would like to add a little information about Rowland Jones, minister at Bruton Parish Church. His father, Rev. Rowland Bartholomew Jones, did marry Alice Collier in 1636 Oxfordshire, England. I have personally viewed this record in Salt Lake City, but Alice Collier was listed as “widow”. I went back in the Oxford marriages and found her marriage to John Collier in 1625, Burford, Oxfordshire, but she was listed as Alice Ward, widow. So I went back further and found Alice Bannester marrying Thomas Ward in 1623 at Enstone, Oxfordshire. So descendants should not waste time trying to research Collier, when indeed she was born a Bannester. Rowland Jones was her 3rd husband. On her marriage at Thomas Ward, she was not listed as a widow.
