Agnes (Unknown) Stoughton was born about 1535 in Naughton, Suffolk, England.

Agnes married Francis Stoughton (~1531 - 1557) in 1554 in England. Their children were:

1. Alice Stoughton (~1556 - )
2. Elizabeth (Stoughton) Tucker (~1557 - 1597)
3. Reverend Thomas Stoughton (~1557 - >1622).

Agnes died about 1557 in Naughton aged ~22.

Agnes was the wife of Francis has mentioned in his will. There is no evidence that Agnes is the daughter of a "Trignall"

"Francis ' will is largely concerned with provisions for his wife Agnes, his only son Thomas and his sister Alice. To Thomas, his brother, known as Thomas Stoughton of St. Martins, Canterbury, " all my lands, tenements (etc.) until my son Thomas is 21.” His son Thomas was to have “ £ 3.6.8. yearly to keep him in school.” There is no bequest to the church for any purpose. He directs that he be buried in the Chancel of St. Jones ( Johns ) in the Church of St. Peter, “ if I die there.” He lived in the Parish of St. Peter, Sandwich, as a country gentleman, having land in Ash and elsewhere ."[1][2]

Agnes Trignall/Tringall was the wife of Thomas Stoughton who was brother to Francis Stoughton and a sister-in-law to the Agnes in this profile. See "English Ancestry of Thomas Stoughton, 1588-1661," pages 52-53, compiled from primary sources. Brothers Thomas Stoughton and Francis Stoughton were sons of Edward Stoughton and Mary Exhurst, and both of Edward's sons married women named Agnes. The surname of Francis' wife remains unknown.
