Adelis de Thiembronne, dame de Tiembronne

Aelis, lady of Thiembronne, died November 7, 1264. She was the daughter of Clérembaud de Thiembronne. Aelis married first to Manasses de Guînes (son of Baldwin ll of Guînes and his wife, Christine of Ardres), with issue. She married second to Gilbert de Fiennes (son of Eustache ll “the Old” and his wife) and was buried as Aelis de Blequin.

At the end of the xii th century - beginning of xiii th century, Clerembaut Thiembronne is lord. His son is Guillaume de Thiembronne who marries Mahaut de Guînes, daughter of Baudouin II de Guînes. The couple remains without heirs and the title of Lord of Thiembronne will pass to the brother of Mahaut Manassès de Guînes 11 .
In May 1221, Manassès de Guînes, younger son of Baudouin II de Guînes, becomes Lord of Thiembronne because of his marriage. Manassès and his wife Aielis donate land to theAbbey of Saint-Médard d'Andres 12 .
Aélis was the sister and heiress of Guillaume de Thiembronne13 .
In 1230, Guillaume Mauvoisin was Lord of Cahem, ( Cohem?), And vassal of Aélide, (undoubtedly the same as Aielis, wife of Manassès de Guînes above), lady of Thiembronne 14 .

Son frère [her brother] Guillaume, à qui elle succéda [whom she succeeded], avait épousé Mahaut de Guines, soeur de Manassès.
Aélis de Thiembronne succéda son petit-fils <<nepos>>Robert 1 de Bailleul, cousin de Jean I de Bailleul ou Baliol roi d'Ecosse, puis Robert II, puis Albert de Chaelus, époux de sa fille Agnès, puis, vers 1325, la soeur d'Agnès, Jeanne de Thiembronne qui épousa Jean de Bournel, seigneur de Puisieux, originaire des environs de Villeneuve d'Agénois. — A ce moment même, le dernier représentant masculin des anciens Thiembronne, Guillaume de Thiembronne, se fixait dans cette dernière province par son mariage, en 1398, avec Bertrande de Saint Pey-Aval, fille de Ratier de Sainl-Pey-Aval, capitaine châtelain de Puymirol, seigneur de Saint-Pey-Aval, la Tourrasse, Tayrac, Fontenilles, Fraysses, etc..

Her brother Guillaume, whom she succeeded, had married Mahaut de Guines, sister of Manassès.
Aélis de Thiembronne was succeeded by his grandson Robert 1st de Bailleul, cousin of Jean I de Bailleul or Baliol king of Scotland, then Robert II, then Albert de Chaelus, husband of his daughter Agnes, then, around 1325, Agnes's sister, Jeanne de Thiembronne who married Jean Bournel, Lord of Puisieux, originally from the surroundings of Villeneuve d'Agénois. - At this very moment, the last male representative of the former Thiembronne, Guillaume de Thiembronne, settled in this last province by his marriage, in 1398, with Bertrande de Saint Pey-Aval, daughter of Ratier de Sainl-Pey-Aval, captain lord of Puymirol, lord of Saint-Pey-Aval, Tourrasse, Tayrac, Fontenilles, Fraysses, etc.

Guillaume, Sr de Thiembronne , eldest son of Clérembaut, is put by the hist. of Philippe- Auguste, among the knights bannerets of Boulonnais, he attended the battle of Bouvines in 1214, and died childless of Mahant, his wife, daughter of Baudoin, count of Guines, and of Chrétienne d'Ardres ( Du Chesne ), leaving as heir to his house, his sister Adeline, allied to Manassés de Guines, who left her name and gave birth to the second house of Thiembronne. Manassés and his wife gave the abbey of Licques 30 mes. of marsh at Roricove, on Ardres, in June 1223. ( Tit . of lad . abb . ) The same Adelide where Aalis gave 40 mes. of wood at the abbey of St-André-aux-Bois, in 1264; she married, in second marriage, Mgr Gislebert .... and was buried in the dud church.
