About Adam de Dutton, of Warburton
Adam de Dutton, son of Hugh de Dutton, Lord of Dutton and Warburton during the Reign of Henry II, Richard I and King John. He married Agnes, daughter and coheir of Roger Fitz Alured. Their children given by Ormerod are Geoffrey de Dutton, a.k.a. as Sir Geoffrey de Buddeworth, Knight; John de Dutton and Agatha de Dutton. (713)
Adam de Dutton, by his marriage with Agnes Fitzalured, daughter and heir of Roger Fitz Alured, became proprietor of the manor of Warburton, in the time of Henry II. One half he gave to the canons of Warburton, for the soul od his son John, who was buried there. He gave one half to the Knights Hospitallers in 1187. Adam had issue, Geoffrey, the eldest son and heir, John buried at Warburton, and Agatha. The elder son, Sir Geoffry Dutton, resided principally at Sutton.
