Not daughter of Samuel Dayton & Medlin.
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Dayton-28
In about 1665 Phebe "Abigail" Dayton married Joseph Beardsley, the son of William Beardsley and Mary Harvey. [1] Joseph's father William, wanted Joseph to marry and give up the sea, if he did he would receive half of William's estate and he also had to take care of his mother. Joseph fulfilled his father's wish when he married Phebe "Abigail" Dayton.[2]
Children
Name Dispute: What is the correct name for Phoebe/Abigail Dayton? In the Beardsley Genealogy her name shows as: Abigail (phoebe) Dayton of Brookhaven, Long Island. [1]In the book, New England Marriages prior to 1700 by Torrey, "Beardsley, Joseph (1634-1712) and Phebe (Dayton) Brookhaven.[3]In Jacobus book of Old Fairfield, her name is Phebe Dayton of Brookhaven."[4]In the Stratford Barbour Records, her name is again written as Phebee, of Brookhaven, m Joseph BEARDSLEY of Stratford, 1728(?)[5]
Question: Was she actually the daughter of Samuel Dayton and Medlin Montauk. If Samuel's year of birth is 1623/4, then he would have only been sixteen or seventeen years old if Phoebe was born in 1640 as per FAG. This seems questionable. [6] There doesn't seem to be a record of Samuel having a daughter Phoebe or Abigail, and his children seem to have been born closer to 1648/9.

We have not seen evidence to suggest a sister named Abigail
It is reasonable to believe that the children of Sam Dayton and Medlin were: Ralph, Sam, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Caleb. If a child was produced from Sam’s presumed marriage to Mary Dingle, the baby likely died at birth or in infancy. In our compilation, we present a possible place of burial for Mary.
Children of Sam and Elizabeth’s bond were Sarah and Elizabeth. Also, Elizabeth entered the marriage with children of her own. No evidence has been found for additional children. Sam’s siblings were Ralph, Alice, Samuel, Ellen and Robert (Robard).
