Abel SIMPSON was born c1787 Yorkshire,
Abel was convicted of horse theft and sentenced to transportation for life. He arrived in Sydney Cove on 27/7/1807 on "Duke of Portland"
Abel married Ann BAXTER
After Ann's death on 22/7/1819, Abel married Ann THORNLEY on 13/12/1819 at Parramatta and they had the following children

Abel Simpson (aged 40) late of Market Weighton in the East Riding, labourer, for having on Tuesday, the 12th of March, 1805, stolen from out of the stable of Thomas Robson, of Long Acres, in the county of Durham, a dark bay or brown bay gelding, two saddles and one bridle, the property of the said Thomas Robson; and also a black gelding, the property of William Ridley, our of his stable, situate at Dunkirk, in the said country. - Guilty - Death. Commuted to Life
Abel Simpson, one of 189 convicts transported on the ship 'Duke of Portland', January 1807. Sentence details: Convicted at York Assizes for a term of life.
