'Abd Allah bin Bullugin bin Habbus, 4th/Last Zirid Emir of Granada

Abd Allah ibn Buluggin was the fourth and last king of the Taifa of Granada , on the throne between 1073 and 1090 .

Member of the dynasty Berber of Zirids , succeeded his grandfather Ben Badis Habús when the son, Marksan, was ruled out of the throne of the Taifa of Granada.

Abd'Allah was elected despite his brother Tamim was older than he. The decision was influenced not only the assumption that Abd'Allah youth, who had then aged 17, would make it more manageable by the vizier of turn, but also the fact that Tamim lived far from the court, in Malaga.

Abd'Allah's reign began suffering the combined pressure of Alfonso VI of León and Castile and the King of the taifa of Seville Al-Mu'tamid , who joined forces when Abd'Allah refused to pay the outcasts to the Castilian king -Leon. The catch in 1075 of Cordoba by the king of the taifa of Toledo Al-Mamun was a relief for Granada but reconquered by Al-Mutamid Córdoba in 1078 Abd'Allah must accept taxed to Alfonso VI.

In 1082 Abd'Allah was attacked by the Taifa of Málaga, governed by his brother Tamim ben Bullugin. Abd'Allah organized a strong army and after taking numerous castles besieged the city of Málaga, forcing his brother to apologize and becoming part of the territory with Malaga.

In 1085 Alfonso VI took Toledo. Abd'Allah with Taifa kings of Seville and Badajoz requested the assistance of the Almoravids , who entered the Iberian peninsula in 1086 and defeated the Castilian-Leonese king in battle Zalaca . However, seeing the weakness of the Taifa kingdoms by the continuing disputes between them, the Almoravids conquered the taifa of Granada in 1090.

Abd'Allah was exiled to the city of Agmat where he wrote his memoirs.

The memoirs of Emir Abd Allah, the last Ziri Monarch of Granada, include a description of the uprising of the population of Lucena against him towards the end of his emirate (1075-1090), when Al-Mutamid of Seville was harassing the kingdom of Granada from Cordoba, a text which contributes considerably to the knowledge of the Jewish community of Lucena. The Jewish community of Lucena in the second half of the 11th century intended to take full advantage of its location on the border of the taifas of Granada and Cordoba, the latter annexed by Al-Mutamid of Seville.
