Death: (1,3) 24 May 1741/2, Lyme, CT. (NOTE: Since year is given with double year, it seems more likely the month might be March.)

(3) Lived with his parents in Lyme, CT in the section now called East Lyme or Huntley Hollow.

(1c) c.1675/6: Was among the 180 men from CT who served as soldiers against the Indians and was among those who later drew Cedar Swamp lots as a reward for service. He received lot 50. (3) A soldier in King Philip's War and on the enrollment list at Voluntown, having drawn Lot No. 148. He drew Cedar Swamp Lot No. 50 in lists compiled 1 Jul 1701.

(1b,4c) 1676, 16 Nov: (1b) Will of John HUNTLEY recorded at Lyme, CT. (1b,4c) Leaves to his son Aaron 1/2 an acre in "the new lott joining to the orchard fence on one side and the front fence one the other side to set him a house upon and apart of the fruits of the orchard as my wife and he shall agree" and 1/3 "of the working of all my land." After the decease of his wife, leaves all his lands and meadows in the town of Lyme to his son Aaron, paying to each of the other children ten pounds. Gives his son Aaron 5 pounds toward the building of a house. Appoints his wife and son Aaron joint executors.

(3) After his father's death, he built himself a house upon the lot his father gave him and managed his father's estate for the widow.

(1) 1676/7, 14 Mar: The town of Lyme granted land to estate of John HUNTLEY: 20 acres of upland and meadow on both sides of "four mile River," bounded on the west by the commons, south by Henry BENNETT, east by the commons, north by John LARABE.

(4d) 1677, 18 Sep: The New London Co., CT court, having heard the complaint of Aaron HUNTLEY against his brother Moses HUNTLEY, and finds him guilty of challenging & threatening his said brother & threatening his wife and also his sister, abusing them all with very abusive language & a great disturbance of the peace, & render himself a very dangerous man & showed much profanes, not having any fear of God, the court do see themselves bound to bear witness against such enormities & that he does deserve a high degree of censure, but in consideration of his acknowledgement in some degree his fault & having reconciled himself unto his brother & promising amendment in the future, the court orders and appoints him that he pay a fine to the county treasury of 50 shillings and give bond of 10 pounds during the court's pleasure for his keeping the peace & good behavior for the time to come. Bond acknowledged by Moses HUNTLEY. Attest, John BIRCHARD. The court later released him from his bond. On the same date, in the same court, a case of Moses HUNTLEY vs. Aaron HUNTLEY, for taking & detaining a gun of Moses, damages 6 pounds. The verdict was the return of the gun to Moses as well fixed and a fine of 5 shillings and costs of the court.

(3a) The heirs of Henry CHAMPION dec'd divided their father's estate into 4 equal shares. Aaron HUNTLEY received 1 share in behalf of his wife Mary HUNTLEY. (NOTE: No date given.)

(4c) 1687, 5 Jul: Elizabeth (HUNTLEY) LEWIS and her husband John LEWIS of New London, CT gave receipt to Aaron HUNTLEY, Lyme, CT, that she had received 10 pounds due her from her father's estate. She gave another similar receipt dtd 8 Mar 1688, recorded 28 Mar 1728, Lyme, CT.

(3,4c) 1687/8, 15 Mar: (1) 1678/9, 15 Mar: (1,5) The town of Lyme laid out to the estate of John HUNTLEY and Aaron HUNTLEY 30 acres of upland at the Cove commonly called Sunkapogosuts, with allowance for surveyors land, bounded north by Thomas CHAMPEAN, east with the common, south by R. SMITH, west by the highway. (4c) 50 acres of upland, being upon account of their fourth division.

(3) 1688: Under the tax list of Gov. ANDROS, Aaron or Iron HUNTLEY is listed 1 person (20 pounds), house and land (2 pounds), 2 oxen & 4 cows (22 pounds), 2; 3 yearlings, 3 yearlings (8 pounds), 1 mare, 1 coult, 11 sheep (12 pounds), total 64 pounds.

(4c) 1688, 8 Jun: Moses HUNTLEY acknowledged that he had received from Aaron HUNTLEY, exector of the estate of John HUNTLEY, full satisfaction of all that his father John HUNTLEY had willed him. Recorded in Lyme, CT 19 Sep 1702.

(4d) 1702, 15 Sep: Aaron HUNTLEY filed suit against Moses HUNTLEY for unjustley molesting him in his rights to the last part of the fourth division of land in Lyme belonging to the estate of father John HUNTLEY, deceased. The court found for Moses. Aaron was disatisfied and filed an appeal to be heard in the next Court of Assistants at New Haven, CT.

(1,3,4c) 1702, 25 Sep: The town of Lyme laid out to the estate of John HUNTLEY, taken up by his son Aaron HUNTLEY, executor, 95 acres at Walnut Tree Hill, the most westward hill. (4c) Beginning at the northward end, being in length 210 rods; in width at the northward end 14 chains, at the southward end 22 chains, at the northwest corner with a black oak tree marked on all four sides, and a chestnut stadell standing by it marked; at the northeast corner with a stadell marked on four sides, at the southeast corner with a chestnut tree marked on four sides, at the southwest corner with a white oak marked on four sides, being upon the account of the last part of the fourth division, it being in full satisfaction for the same.

(3b) 1702, 2 Oct: The town of Lyme, CT laid out to Aaron HUNTLEY 51 acres of Upland, swamps and bogge, the west side of Four Mile River above the TILESTON's 20 acre lot, bounded by Ely with the said River, Nly and Wly with the commons, Sly partly with the commons and partly with the TILESTON's boundary, upon the account of the last grant of the fourth division for him and his wife, and son John's right, which is in full satisfaction for the same.

(3b) 1702/3, 1 Jan: Aaron HUNTLEY renewed the bounds of his land at Four Mile River before giving grants of land to his sons.

(3c) 1702/3, 20 Jan: Gave a gift of land to his son Aaron, "a parcel of upland, marsh, bogs, meadow, 28 acres and halfe more or less" in Lyme, CT, on the west side of 4 mile river a little above the TILLOTSON's 20 acres, granted to him by the towne as 4th division, Nly and Wly with the Commons, Sly by Daniel HUNTLEY, Ely by 4 mile river.

(3) 1702/3, 22 Feb: Aaron HUNTLEY deeded to his son John HUNTLEY a parcel of land in Lyme, CT, both Upland and meadow at Four Mile River, on both sides of the River; 44 acres adjacent to the town commons and Henry CHAMPION's land.

(3) 1724, 11 Feb: Aaron HUNTLEY deeded to his son David and his two eldest sons that shall survive him, 48 acres of land with dwelling bounded on the highway, the common land, land of Josiah DeWOLFE and land and meadow of Moses NOYES.

(3) 1723, 24 Jan: He gave a gift of land to his son Aaron at 4 Mile River, 12 1/2 acres at the West end of Lyme and 2 1/2 acres south of the highway that goes over the river.

(3) 1745: Aaron HUNTLEY wrote his will. Bequeathed to his son Daniel dec'd gifts of lands, to his daughters Elizabeth, wife of Mathew BECKWITH and Ruth, wife of Sollomon, to the daughter of Solomon, Mary LATTIMORE, and to David's children, Simon who lived with him, and Lidy who cared for him so tenderly in his sickness. Wits. Lewis DeWOLFE, Elisha HUNTLEY, Josiah DeWOLF.

When Aaron Huntley was born on April 15, 1654, in Boston, Massachusetts, his father, John, was 30 and his mother, Jane, was 24. He married Mary Champion in 1670 in Woburn, Massachusetts. He then married Mary Ellen Champion and they had one son together. He died on May 24, 1745, in Lyme, Connecticut, at the impressive age of 91.
