Edward Coffin Lineage - John and Mary Coffin parentage

hi folks,

i have become aware of some interesting theory indicating that Edward Coffin was actually NOT the son John and Mary Coffin, as has been widely accepted for arguably at least a century or so.

A fellow named Hereld Stuart, who appears to be fairly thorough, at least, in his due diligence on face value, has theorized a different parentage altogether.

this theory would indeed upset some folks, as it leads to a completely alternate path of immigration and bypasses the Tristram Coffyn, Sr progeny altogether.

There is another branch reflecting this theory here, on Geni.com, but only goes as far as Edward's parents, Isaac and Anna (Churchill) Coffing.

this profile, which i am commenting on currently, is NOT the profile that relates to the alternate theory, rather the "proper" lineage as accepted over the years, with John and Mary Coffin as the parents of Edward.

i'd like to invite input, research and dialog about this issue, although admittedly i for one can admit the potential outcome could be rather disappointing, no doubt,

i'd gladly assist any way i can. i am going to start a thread in the Starbuck/Coffin project so as to attract as many contributors as possible.

i will also, cross-post this in the Edward Coffin profile showing John and Mary (Davis) Coffin parentage.
