Marie Crevet's dates

according to the info. I've found... Marie Crevet was born circa 1621. Her profile page lists her as being born in 1616.

The story page also mentions that she married on October 25, 1637 at the age of sixteen. 1637 minus 16 = 1621... the likely year she was born.

I've started fixing up this ancestor's profile. Some of the information I found indicates that she was born in 1615, but a lot shows her born in 1621. The government records... being immigration records are 1621. We have a little mystery on our hands. Other than that I got rid of the multiple profile errors for Marie Crevet and Robert Caron. I plan to do some more work on the other many issues surrounding this branch of ancestors.

Use the PRDH data. That is backed up by the U de Montréal. And the université is actively involved in research into the history of Nouvelle France and Québec. They take this very seriously. (Being a fellow Canadian, I am sure you understand how serious they take this. You have probably heard that Ottawa U had recently announced that they are planning to work on transcribing 1800 Québec church records, correctly).

You start with the PRDH and then modify the data if you find documented proof (sourced) to the contrary. Unless Trudel cites documented proof, I rely on the PRDH.

They did not record age in marriage certificates so that is NOT a source
or age. We only know, from the marriage record is is that she was at least 13 (min allowed age) and under 25, if she was listed as a minor.
Since the marriage record is a copy from memory (a fire destroyed the church register at the time, the priest re-created the register.

Her burial registration may have her age at death. This will also be suspect since the age was "guess estimated'.

Using the PRDH (and/or Tanguay) is the best we can do.

I corrected Robert Caron several times in the past (I am getting tired of the mess and sloppy research) as well as Marie Crevel (Crevet). Note her father's name was spelt Crevel. It is the same name.. transcribing errors turned the Crevel to Crevet. You can put the name in brackets or call her Marie Crevel dite Crevet. It is "dite" not "dit" since she is a female.

The PRDH says 1615.Keep it at 1615!

Franogene may say that she was married at age 16 but that is because they think she was born in 1621 NOT that she was married at 16.

Okay. I didn't change her birth date; I just fixed up the mess with the duplications. If you want to have it your way than by all means change it to whatever satisfies you. I'm good either way.
