Curators... My software gave me a notice that a father was 80 when his son was born...I am not aware of any such notices on Geni...am I missing a setting or someplace to check for discrepancies like this? Thanks.

I haven't seen that in geni. There are messages (?) when birth and death dates are impossible (died before born etc).

Faith, some of these are "private" so I cannot merge them. I did the rest, though!

Faith, the most I can do for most of these is add another request. But I did find one where I was the profile manager, so took care of it. I don't understand why it wasn't showing up in my merge center. I try to deal with all requests to merge in a timely manner.

Marked For Deletion II has been reported as an abandoned tree so all you can do on 'WORD' duplicates is wait.
On profiles where the manager is still active I would suggest that you contact them quoting the two profiles and asking if they think they may be duplicates.

Erica Howton Thanks. We had skipped a generation, entered the grandfather as the father. Got it all straight now, but am still concerned that Geni didn't say anything. Where are the notifications you mentioned? Do they pop up when adding data, or afterwards?

- in profile view, basics tab, if you enter a death date of say 2011 with a birth date of 1201, you will get a big read warning.

- in tree view you will see a ? when there is say a death date before the birth date.

I don't have the details of the logic used. Did you look on http://help.geni.com/ (or the help link at the bottom of every geni page) for what's listed in the FAQ, or raise a request for a FAQ there?

I didn't see anything in the FAQ, only a request for a warning when things don't match up. I didn't add to that request for help yet...wanted to make sure I wasn't being an idiot first!

I am unable to set the parents for poor Guillaume Albert dit Lafontaine, although I am offered six choices. I believe that it should be option #1, though I am advised if I click on any of them I will "split the tree" Could anyone help? Thanks!

@Eric done apart from where a new users tree was to be merged into the big tree but I sent them a message and I didn't complete the data conflicts.
