Perhaps part of the angst is created by the fact that when you are not listed as the Primary Manager then 1) these profiles do not show when you do a list of Profiles you manage and 2) when you do a Geni-search on the name, you are not shown as a Manager (because it only lists the first one). So folks may not realize they are still a manager - and even if they do, it makes it harder to track, etc.

The Primary Manager is the one messages go to when someone tries to 'contact the Manager' - a reason for some to care, even if they understand they are "one of the managers"

Another contributor to the problem was the past policy, no longer in effect, whereby a Profile only had one Manager. So back then, when merges took place, only one person got the Profile, the other was dropped. Not sure if any retroactive correction/change was ever done on those.

Henry Beaumont
3 different fathers and 4 different mothers! I don't know anything about him

Eldon

It looks like its already been cleared up.

I can't explain the logic on the path statement so much, I'm sorry. It takes more of a math mind than I have.

I tend to try and clear up by family line, and when I do, I try and add documentation to make it clearer for the future. Recently I've been working on the Delano family (first and second generation from immigration). But it means my work can be slower to show results in a path statement.

I hope my work in that area benefits your tree, Walter, as I know you do have a Delano connection.

Erica, it looks like Ofir did it. Thanks Ofir.

Eric, done.

Thanks, Terry!

Can you please do this one as well? Something weird happened when we merged and now I'm cleaning up:

done :-)

Thanks, Martin!

Is anyone else having trouble adding people? I can no longer type in data when adding new people.

Sarah we're not aware of any problems adding people to the tree. Are you still having trouble? Does it not let you fill in the fields on the form? Or you submit the form but no new profile gets created?

Eric, no activity shown for the other manager Leah Denman . Might be an abandoned tree.

Eric, Done

Hi Eldon,
What is typically done for abandoned trees?

Thanks, Martin!

I can answer this one Eric. On every public profile, under the Actions menu, there is a "report" button. Drop down to "reason" - Abandoned Tree.

She was on 3 mths ago, it's not abandoned until one year, plus she has been a user since 2009.

Thanks for the answers, Erica and Martin! I'll know what to do in the future if I come across an abandoned tree, but we'll leave Leah's alone. Hopefully she'll sign on again soon.
Best,
Eric

Anyone want to take a crack at cleaning up this section of the tree? Lots of pending merges and I don't know much about this part of the tree. http://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/4203925808640063082

Done. I tried to avoid resolving data though. :)

Nice work, Erica!

Eric, I too had a go at this but like Erica didn't attempt to resolve conflicting data. (sorry, I forgot to come back to this thread to say I'd had a go at it)

No problem, Terry. Thanks for looking at it!

Terry and Erica - I saw and appreciate the help of both of you in completing merges that I set up here some moths ago. This is all part of the http://www.geni.com/projects/Sephardic-Families-Who-Settled-in-Euro... project. Curator input into this very large and significant tree area is always much appreciated. Thank you all.
