David Prins, that would be true if he had not "claimed his own profile" but he joined Geni at my invitation and therefore the option to list him as deceased is no longer in my power.

Nancy - obviously you know best if you can edit the profile or not - I am sure you have tried! Given that you are listed as a manager, I thought you might be able to, even though the profile has been claimed.

@Beth Gern- I used your source and another I found online, which I added to the About Me section for Agnes, and decided which parents were correct. She now has one set of parents.

I have no further knowledge of these people, and these profiles, anyone with knowledge... Can you help sort out this mess?

I've encountered similar puzzling issues and perhaps have posted in the wrong place, resulted in a discussion with myself. Next time I'll ask who appears to be the most relevant Curator. I have quite a few on my list now.

On another note... I guess this guy has his entire tree privatized?

Barbara, just refresh your cache and she will be listed as your fifth great grandmother (there is a little circle of arrows that you need to click, right next to where it calculates the relationship.

Another problem with the new privacy settings. When did he join and is he active or need to be reported?

Barbara, maybe we're looking at different places. To try my way (and I got your 5th gg-mother relationship this way), go to Catherine Westhaver 's profile. Along the top of the profile, there will either be a relationship path (which may or may not have a very small circle of arrows beside it to the right), or there will be a notice saying "You are connected to Catherine Westhaver (Boutilier).
You → How are you related? → Catherine Westhaver (Boutilier)
your relative?"

If you get the first option with the 1st cousin 7 times removed, look for the little circle of arrows and click it. Geni automatically caches these relationship calculations for a certain number of days, and it may be that it has not been long enough since you last ran it for it to refresh. I think it's a week. It refreshed for me when I ran it on the relationship between you and Catherine, so you can be assured that the information *is* there, but you may just need to wait a day or two for the technology to catch up.

Can someone please remove the relationship between my profile for Elizabeth Burgess with her parents, who I do not have the ability to manage? I do not believe her maiden name was correct., and she is a duplicate in that tree anyway

@Robert Dale Ferguson is a "manager" of some of my profiles. So is my dead grandmother @Arline Edna Ferguson. Is there any way to delete them as profile managers?

@Scott Korin , the profile you refer to is co-managed by 9 other people in addition to you (profile created already 2007). Is the disconnection a result of an agreement with those managers? Any source or reference available?
The parents are managed are managed by even more users, with whom you have not requested to collaborate. I suggest you send a collaboration request to one of the managers.

Lars: basically my problem is this:

I manage Mary Frink. The profile I added as her mother ( Esther Hilliard) is not at all the right woman. Mary Firnk's mom is really a woman named Martha Lord.

I would like to change the profile complete on Esther to have the information for Martha. But I don't know who Martha Lord's parents are. But I can't remove the relationship between Elizabeth and Esther (really Martha Lord).

I will try communicating with the other managers of Elizabeth. If I remove myself as a manager, since I am not at all related to this person (as far as I can tell), would that make things easier or harder?

Elizabeth Fordham (Shotbolt) is shown with two husbands. I believe Unknown Profile is the correct one as the other one Phillip I Fordham is 20 years younger.

Eldon - It seems to be a data entry issue. Pls look at the about section. Both date of births should be the same

Anchit, There are 40 years difference between two Phillip's the further up the tree you go, the more bad looking relationships you find.

Yes, you are right. I would be hesitant to disconnect anybody before we have clarity on which is the correct one. I do not have knowledge in this branch so would prefer another curator with the knowledge to help out.

Scott, I'll remove the connection between Esther and her parents. That'll enable you to rename her to Martha Lord. This should do the job and you can add correct parents to her after that.

You can remove yourself as manager of Elizabeth if you like.
