I have over 10,000 separate sources and documents that go with this direct line.

"Lees of Virginia" sounds like a perfect name for the Project! Go forth and make it!

Sorry for deletion -- sprained wrist acted up on me.

J - you write the opening paragraph for me since you're the family expert. You can send it to me on Geni. I'll start the project and begin to add the early ancestor profiles and add collaborators. Then we can divide up the family and work on making corrections.

We can (1) add sources (2) name the profiles uniquely so as to prevent bad mergers (3) expand and correct the About Me (4) get rid of wrong children and spouses (5) create Master Profiles where needed and make sure that all MPs have clear curator notes to help keep the tree clean (6) lock a few profiles if absolutely necessary.

Projects are started here:

Hatte@ "Lees of Virginia" Project okay with you? If so - let's go forward :)

Okay. I'll create a project. You can add the opening paragraph :)

Yay team!

Hatte@ Would it be easier just to download the GEDCOM? I can make it for Richard Lee I - just ancestors and descendants alone (no outward branchs) and cut it off at Charlemagne?

Awesome! As a former Virginia resident, I have a profound respect for the Lee family. I'll add myself to that project and help where I can.

They waited for me to validate the name of the Project :) I know a good name when I see one and "Lees of Virginia" is **exactly** how I think about this line. Really well done, Jacqueli.

Projects also have their own "document repository" so you upload once, and then can tag to multiple profiles. Soooo much easier.

We can't upload GEDCOMs to Geni due to the issue of too many duplicates and tangled trees.

I have created the project and added collaborators and one profile.

Ok - may I please request that all profiles and information be ran by me for accuracy, to avoid more mistakes? I can send any and all information to anyone who request family group material, ahnentafels, sourcing, etc, if requested, to help expedite the process.

@Erica and Hatte - me thinks you both created a project with different names at the same time
...

Nope! I didn't create any projects. I'm just watching along and merging my Mayflowers (the mess I'm caught up in).

That's funny. I can't see Erica's project. It's not searchable yet.

Jacqueli - let's add the profiles that are Master Profiles to the project and start by fixing them. You can still fix them even though they are part of a project.

I don't wait until I have good profiles to add them to the project. The point of the project is to collect profiles that need to be worked on collaboratively.

Thank you to all that helped. Because I was alerted by geni quickly that SL had deleted those 50+ profiles, I was able to go in and undelete everyone that I managed.

There is one Dyer I could not undelete (Very First One listed) named Florence Dyer Webster (http://www.geni.com/profile/undelete/6000000009290232838). Can anyone see if you can undelete that one?

David, I cant even get to it, Error!

David, I'm a curator and I can't get it either.

Although I did not manage that profile, I do have links to it and need that info so that it is not lost. I am also confused as to how someone that was not a collaborator of mine (that I know of) and did not have management of many profiles of mine that he deleted. I thought that it was not supposed to work that way.

Ideas?

David - That's beyond the scope of what any of us can do. I suggest that you contact the help desk and share with them the situation. Sorry.

Almost everyone got something similar, so please don't make it worse by repeating the spam, - the curators and Geni staff already have discussions on how to stop spam faster than using the report option everyone have.

Blokkerte ho med en gang ej!!

I have been fixing what I can using my copy of "The Loomis Family in America". Added scans pages 128 & 129; hope this helps us all :-)

is anyone able to decease this person?Trijnje-Jelle van der Zee so i can merge her with her counterpart Trijntje Jelles van der Zee at the moment i cant even get them to merge with one another. the first one will not let me merge to the 2nd one. thank you

Private User, - it is a private profile without any option for the curators to make it public because there are Geni users within the family group. It is better to contact the profile manager directly.

RE the "Cynthia" spam - I sent a request to the help desk as soon as I saw it and they informed me shortly thereafter that they had deactivated the spammer's account. I just put ****** SPAM/VIRUS ALERT! ******* in the subject line and copied the entire message.

That's the first time I have seen a spam message like that on here, so they must be pretty good at controlling it!

There is another one under new projects - I am afraid that someones not happy with the work being done here - we cannot afford a virus at this stage.

Guess we could make it a project to hunt those people down! Did you report it?
