Unfortunately, I have to go to work and I will be working most of the weekend not leaving me much geni time. I just found that this profile is married to both a Sr and Jr so it looks like a generation issue. I was hoping someone might have time to look at this.

Capt. Edward Butler, NOT his brother William.His mother was Isabella Fowler. I am working on these profiles in preparation for a Revolutionary War project called The Fighting Butlers. Please correct. Thanks.

Hi Erica, I was able to move Edward GW Butler to the correct parents. I didn't think I could get into one profile. Anyway, there are still several locked profiles around him (Butler, Turnbull). I have added duplicates to merge into the locked profiles if they can be opened. I sent a message to the manager. Thanks. Mary

OK you're talking about Children C Butler & E Butler. They are too recent - within 4 generations of a "claimed" user profile - so curators can't help. If you don't hear back from the profile manager in a couple weeks post again and we'll strategize an alternative.

I've got a couple merges that are stalled waiting on a user that has not been online in nearly a year. Can a Curator complete these?

Does anyone know what happened with drop down dates? What does a user do who has the birth/death month and year, but no day?

Hi Jonathan. When I got there, they'd been completed. So I think it's sorted.

Hatte we're moving to a single-field date system. You can use - or / or a space as a delimiter, so if you've chosen your input format as "YYYY MM DD" at http://www.geni.com/account_settings/localization then you should be able to enter a dayless date as 1700-06 for June 1700. If that doesn't work for you, let me know and we'll investigate.

Question. I get the notice of 1 match in other trees on a few of my relatives. My wife Susan Emerling is one for example.

When I click to see the other tree, it wants me to join Geni Pro. Can someone help me?

Automatic tree-matches require Pro, - but if you use some extra seconds you can perform a manual search which does not require Pro.

I cannot enter dates at all. which means it is pointless adding anybody, can someone see if it is just me for some reason? Also I am not getting any Tree Matches now and I usually get at least a few each day.

no one can edit them either as they have been locked out - - in the suffix field I fell that they should be identidied as

as to avoid further attempts to merge these to men and to eliminate the fustration of other geni memebrs over this issue - - especially since we as managers can not edit our own co managed profiles - mine is Benjamin Wright , # 1

This seems only fair to me since she has both profiles as master profiles adn they are both locked down by her from being edited and corrected by amy of the managers.

I don't know who curates Benjamin Wright however I will point out that just because the profile is locked doesn't mean that your input isn't valued. If you feel these are the same person try contacting the curator with your comments or data and I'm sure they will either cooperate or justify their actions with sources.

Judi, I curate those. Putting that in the suffix is a good idea. I have found a more accurate birth date for Mary Barker's Benjamin, as the 1610 currently listed was only from his having been merged with the other Benjamin before. I will do some more research on them.
