If it would, it's only because there never should have been a connection to begin with. "She" has never existed. "Her" spouses are correctly connected each to their own wife and has never had any connection to each other.
If that breaks up the tree the reason is part of it never should have been connected to the tree. And I believe there are multiple connections to the big tree so no branch should be able to become "driftwood" as a result of this.
Thanks again.
I'm not a Harry Potter fan but this looks suspicious.

Maiden Name field for Men
Some time ago it was announced that the Maiden Name field cound be accessed and completed even if the subject was a man.
This was to enter a first family name if the subject had subsequently changed his name or was known by a different family name.
This has led to quite a number of cases where a man has been given a maiden name the same as his family name.
Who can this be corrected?
Reg, as Maria says, to change a man's maiden name field, just temporarily change his gender to female and the maiden name field will be revealed on the database entry form. Is that what you mean? But many of us do intentionally enter the man's maiden name on historical profiles as the same as his family name as a matter of course, especially with historical profiles. It keeps other incorrect ones from being automatically placed there during merges.

One word of praise for Maria and her efforts on jacob emery of sussex coutn new jersey - james Emery and ruth watson and their sons jonathan m. jersua Barron and james -
my book she rates up there with my first 2 Geni resucers - dneise Unander and gene4 daniel's - - if it were not for denise or Gene i would of probably done what the geni reps told me the only soultion was and to do was to 'dump' my tree and leave Geni . I know there is at least one who would of been glad - but i have this very bad habit if I am told 'it can't be done' I try my best to prove them wrong even if I end up being the 'whhipping post'
i have privately thanked her and I want to publicly thank her for all her efforts - in helping to clean up this compounded error that has existed that i know of off and on for at least 30+ years and keeps coming back like a "bad penny"
