okay I diapproved the merge for the 2 Samuels - I went to the tree version the dates somewhat match - the spouses are the same - but Samuel's parents bare different names in the profiles - i will have to do some research on this to see which set of parents is correct for Samuel
The two fathers are different people

Cyndi Mahler
Today at 11:41 AM Dear Judi / Judith Elaine,
I am contacting you about this profile: @http://www.geni.com/people/Esther-or-Hester-Marshfield/600000000121...
I think I just made a bad merge! I am so sorry!
Sincerely,
Cyndi Mahler
Esther or Hester Marshfield
Sally, I did the two merges.
Without actually seeing the Samuel Baker profile mentioned above, it sounds like there has been a merge of 2 Samuel Baker profiles. To just delete it would delete the other profile, as well. The manager wouldn't be happy about that. If the Samuel Baker profile can be merged into the correct place on the tree, it can then be disconnected from the incorrect parents. Nothing will have been lost in the process.
Could someone please assist with the following merge:

Thanks!
Is there someone out there who could possibly complete the following merges:
http://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000010209395360?from_flash=1&...
http://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000010209028060?from_flash=1&...
The other manager hasn't been online since 2008.
Thanks!
Leslie,
in the context pf Curators abilities to "kill" these zombie profiles (or even to do anything at all on them), "too recent" means that they have actual [living] Geni users within their Family-Group (anybody closer than 3rd great-grandparents, their descendants, i.e. 4th cousins). This works out to 6 generations of ancestors.
So if, for example, your uncle or even grandparent registered with Geni, then the profiles of HIS 3rd great-grandparents would be private.
This works out to having the majority of profiles for people born after around 1850 to be private, unless an actual family member manually makes them public. This line is variable, of course, depending on the actual family. I have seen private profiles for as early as 1800 in certain long-lived families.
We Curators have the option to CHECK if a specific private profile should be public, but if it's too close to a Geni user we'll get a "Can't make this profile public" message.
Can you Please remove this wife and children from William they are from a different time and connected to a William Noel Waldron.

Well, you don't have much information your self ;-)
However: By looking on the tree of your profile, William Rankin, must be born around 1800, and if you take a closer look on the other profile you will see that it is private, - and if you take an even closer look you will see that the manager is the son.
I canceled that merge request, but if you want to recheck your self, this is the second profile: William Rankin I
If you suspect that it is a claimed historical profile Geni last night released a Report menu item in the "More Actions" menu of all profiles.
Can any curator help with this, Cecilie Nygård manages one profile and I manage four. Need control to mark them to tell them apart.

This one needs a curator. Two MPs to be merged.
