Thanks Ben for merging Francis Cary. Disregard the Mary Hope thing -- goofy me, I pasted the wrong thing!

Leslie, that happens to all of us! Usually to me about 2 am.

Thank you, Sally. May the new year treat you kindly.

@Eldon

one of them are to close.
if you look at there age,Ann could never have been married to William.
since Ann passed away, about 20 years before William was born.
so there is some mess there.

Martin, I was going to work on it but saw all the private profiles so asked for help

Just wondering, do curators have the ability to make public profiles private if the profile manager is unresponsive and the public profiles are of living family members? Or is this a task for Geni Help?

You misunderstand, I said can they make private profiles of currently public living people.

Jeff,

I follow and frankly I've never tried. I presume *not* -- that I would need "manager" rights, not "curator" rights. I'd start a HELP ticket if I were you. It's a mistake that should be rectified.

Thanks, Heather.

Erica Howton and Private User, - not quite correct.

Any family member can edit, merge and change the privacy of any unclaimed profile within his/her family group regardless of who is the manager or if you are collaborating with his/her.

This was done just to make the privacy protection better so you don't have to drag other people into your privacy area to help you, and can fix it immediately yourself. We all have family members that is not so computer literate or does not understand fully how Geni works which can make errors.

Of course this could lead to family quarrels about if a profile should be public or not, if ex-spouses should be listed and so on, but it is in any case a family matter you should be able to fix yourself without having to drag other people, curators or Geni staff into it.

This does however lead to a weak spot in Geni: If you manage living profiles outside your family group and does not have another user to ask you cannot make the profile private.

Could someone please assist with the following merge:

Thanks!

Leslie, it's done. You just need to resolve the conflicts.

Could someone please assist with this merge:

Thanks!

Thanks Heather and Ofir!

Could someone please try this merge again, for some reason it didn't work when Ofir did it.

Thanks

Seems to work now - it's merged... though Bristol County in present-day Massachusetts didn't exist until 1685... (Plymouth Colony created its counties just before the abortive attempt by King James II to create a Dominion of New England)

Zombie alert:

Charles Martel

sharon - I'm starting the zombie utility...

Thanks Janet :-)

Anyone want to help me sort out the Rotrude/Adaltrude problem on Charlemagne's tree? It's locked and creating exponentially increasing merge issues that only curators have access to?

Pam Wilson (on hiatus)

Pam -- maybe you can assist Sharon with temporarily unlocking some of the profiles, and / or loading to a special project for editing?

Sharon

I started a Project and joined you to it:

http://www.geni.com/projects/Charlemagne-Emperor-of-the-West

I'm loading in his family now for editing / merging.

Use "Project discussions" to request profiles be added to Project.

I allready created long time ago Carolings project
Feel free to Join this project

Thanks, Henn. Wasn't sure if we wanted the whole dynasty or not.

Thanks guys - I see I've received lots of input from the curators here. You all work very well as a team.
Thanks Erica and Henn, I'll go there right now to work on it! (also, would like Henn's opopinion, as many of the profiles are his.)
Pam gave me some help yesterday, but is back at work, so wasn't around. Jadranka helped with some unlocking too.
I'm hoping to have mopped up and merged in everything I can by the end of today (Can't fend my own clients off much longer, and 3 straight days of Charlemagne's tree might just be enough for the moment) but I don't want to leave for the curators any profiles it is possible to merge and check data on by myself.
