I even added duplicate profiles to get around one of them and immediately got a match, The profile was in another tree and that manager was also inactive Private User

Not sure I understand you comment about th fourth profile, which appears as my 30th GGF. Should he not be part of my tree? If he belongs in my tree, what is required in order to make him public?

because it's a claimed close family-fake account we can't make it public

There were two merges connected to that link. I did one -- enough data matched -- same DOB, place of birth, wife. I did nothing with the other. It had different wife and different place of birth.

We have to be careful with these Cookes of this time period. Captain Cook of Hawaiian fame is sometimes merged into Captain Cooke of New England. I chose to be cautious with the second merge.

But that's great! You can check on the profiles tonight or tomorrow and see if they're now available to you for adoption. You know how to do that?

--it's the same John Cooke, but Private (who hasn't been online since September) has his wife as Thomasine, who is actually the wife of his brother, Capt. Thomas Cooke

Is there any way you or someone could fix the wife and complete the merge?

Erica, I did not follow the blocked merge profiles. All I can do is click on the links I sent you and those profiles have not changed. Requests go to the abandoned profiles

Okay, I divorced John and Thomasine. Then I married her to Thomas. She was a Zombie, so I laid her to rest. Then I finished the merge for you. There are 2 or 3 curators who can complete Hibbard merges. I'm not one but I can stack the merge and they will take care of it as soon as they can.

I see a few more profiles 2-3 generations below John Cooke that might be Zombies or might be private. I'm going back in and I'll fix them if I can.

I originally posted this in General Discussions but I didn't get any response so maybe I will have better luck here.

Revisions - apparently I did 185 revisions to my tree between about 08:30am and 09:00am on the 9th December! I'm sure most people would agree this is impossible. I would appreciate it if someone could please explain how this occurred and would I be correct in saying this is a bug?
And then on the 10 December under My Tree - Revisions it says a person's profile was update but it doesn't say by whom. Is that correct?

Ancestors - about the first week of December I had more than 408 ancestors, the next week it dropped to 388, then it dropped to 77. Could someone please explain how this occurred?

Brendan remember though if it is in your private tree we would not be able to see it unless we are part of your Family Group'

Please -- can somebody help -- these Cooks are a mess!

John Cooke, alias Butcher needs to be unlinked from all parents. This particular John Cook has been linked as a father to his siblings as well as Cooks from a different line, and the father that he is linked to is actually his grandfather.

This Sarah Hovey (Cooke) is actually the daughter of a Capt. Aaron Cook

Mary Bedortha doesn't belong in any Cook family.

This person Hannah [Wilcox] Briggs needs to be deleted. It looks like she is a combination of John's two sisters Hannah and Sarah.

Also, the wife Mary Cook doesn't belong in here anywhere. This John's wife was Ruth Cook

The manager of these profiles has not been online since October. Appreciate any help.

Leslie - nice work. I've been dabbling in the Cook(e) profiles as I inherited quite a few, but I've also been trying to relinquish management as i clearly don't know the family. I'm glad to help clean up the mess I may have contributed to.
