Ann Bishop for some reason has ended up with two ann's as mother. the one that says 1610 on the profile should stay could some one disconnect the other one thank you.
Curators,
In tree-view http://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000003985645700 you will find a Private duplicate of Samuel Kauffman Weaver, II 's mother Barbara Meyer (Kauffman).
Can this profile from the 1700's be made Public and either merged or disconnected to help clean up this area of the tree?
There actually is a separate Discussion "Zombies Please" for reporting Zombies - http://www.geni.com/discussions/76010
Dear Curators,
I have some merge issues that are not "sticking." All involve profiles worked with yesterday during the on/off outage period. All involve selecting two parents over a parent + unknown. I have now done these merge completions at least six times only to have them pop back up an hour or so later. They are:
Alexander Henry Stevens
Emily Louise Ladenburg
Moritz Adolph Emil Ladenburg
Anyone else having this problem? I'm "fixing" them again now with crossed fingers.
Thanks,
Jessie German
Jessica: Pending merges in the 'merge center' don't always clear out immediately. Data conflicts *do* tend to clear out of the merge center with -- at worst -- one addition viewing after resolving; not so with merges / tree-conflicts. Once you've resolved them, leave them be for a day. Every time you 'view' it, it seems to 'recreate' the conflict resolution panel (that overlay panel), but it really is resolved. You just have to let the database cleanup have some time to realize what has happened.
Jessica Marie German -A couple hours ago we released a fix related to merge issues sticking around after the merge is completed and all data conflicts resolved. If that wasn't your issue and/or you continue to see a problem, let me know and we'll investigate further.
Unknown Profile thanks but I don't feel the job title means much. Yesterday's outage was not our best work and I understand michael's frustration. Moving on!
Jessica, I have been experiencing that same exact issue. Yesterday I completed merges for a few people who appear in my tree but also another tree unconnected to the one world tree. No matter how many times I click the exclamation sign to resolve the conflict and then subsequently assign the correct parents, the split will surely reprise given enough time.
The issue does not appear to be completely resolved.
Dear curators and Mike,
Sorry, but after "sticking" all day, those same merges listed above came unstuck again. :( Also, add Evelena Babcock Stevens who was merged this morning.
Hoping this does not continue,
Jessie German
Private - actually if you read that first thread more carefully, you will see in the first Comment of this thread the Poster did explicitly ask folks to use the "Zombies Please" thread for Zombies (excerpting): "Presently what we can help you with is:
* "killing zombies" - Zombies are historical profiles that are wrongly marked as living, and thus block merges. Please continue posting these requests here: http://www.geni.com/discussions/6000000008897331095 " --- (That is the link to "Zombies Please")
There is a different kind of work for curators from "general assistance" to "helping for zombies.".
That's why the focused discussion http://www.geni.com/discussions/6000000008897331095
Is helpful for us.
