ATTENTION Curators, please assist

I noticed that the Help at the bottom of the page goes to a page that is language independent. It is fine for those that can read English but for others it does not help much.

If it is at all possible to translate the help page I offer to translate this.

Oops. This person was set as deceased. I set him living and the profile went private. He should have a public page as a notable person.

Geni's message to "mark this profile deceased" was done. However the profile is private, without the blue ball indicating private.

You still have to make the profile public from the tree view.

Making it public from edit profile didn't work.

Tree view is better to use as you can see other parts of the tree that may need to be made public as well.

The display name is Saint Joan of Arc

In English speaking countries we all know her as Saint Joan of Arc

I read Martin's comment as suggesting that her Display Name should also be French -- that it is o.k. to have English "also known as" names, but the official name should be as she was known.

This is an on-going controversy about non-English famous profiles that are also well-known in English.

Such controversies are somewhat simpler since searches now will find "Joan of Arc" (since it is in the 'a.k.a.' field) -- but what name should be displayed? Both forms? Curator choice? (A technical alternative solution has been proposed, but it has not been implemented at this time.)

As a compromise can we show both names in the Display name i.e
Jeanne Sybille d'Arc / Saint Joan of Arc

on geni there is allways a controversy seems to be the norm and not the exception sadly.. and i don't mean that in a negatative way as some of these controversies are good.. LOl. I have no problem with honoring martin's request.

in fact until the whole controversy with king richard and where he was burried and all I didn't really understand complex dna.. so you do learn stuff from things like that

As the curator for Jeanne d'Arc I "had" had it set to the French version, there is no particular difficulty for English readers on French names. I do not like slashes in names if they can be avoided, they make it harder to read.

I am reverting to what I had set originally.

NB I can't find support for a middle or alternate name of "Sybille" so I've removed it from name fields. If there's a citation for it, can be added to the "overview."

Martin it was a simple error easily corrected. I read the same stories as a child (in English translation). :)

I added images to her parents but there's no biography for them developed if anyone wants to contribute. I believe the tree is correct - at least it was a couple of years ago when I last looked at it.
