Angus - and all other curators AND management - "trying" is a very poor term for a very poor excuse. This is NOT a difficult process - but whomever controls this decision simply is unwilling to "pull the trigger." If one can make the changes that were done in July - then this COULD be done in a matter of minutes.
The US government keeps all types of information "unavailable" for different periods of time, such as the 72 years before census info is released or whatever the time limit is on Presidential papers. But no one that I am aware of keeps data that is 100 years and older PRIVATE - accept our GENI !!!!
I bet that if management had the balls to put out a survey and ask the GENI membership that pays money to be a part of this, what their biggest gripe is and MOST wanted change - that the # 1 item requested would be to change this deceased privacy issue and that this request would DWARF the next 5 or 6 items COMBINED !!!!
OK management - the ball is in your court .........
Richard (Rick) Gary Simon please ensure management sees your comment. I believe tickets from PROs will ensure it.
Private User all are public now except for Lala Lewy where it's impossible to determine whether she should be alive or not (estimated birth range of husband 1880-1940).
Richard (Rick) Gary Simon - the best way to ensure Geni management sees "any" site issue & responds to you is by help ticket to customer support.
When you think about it, it's logical. A discussion is noisy, ephemeral, impressionistic: It works fine for identifying "zombies" to be made deceased by several of us, but not as much for points like you are making. By contrast, a ticket is a one to one investigation with a paper trail. If you can include links to example profiles that of course give them more to look at.
The profile:
Sir Randal Brereton, IV of Malpas
has been misplaced. There are at least three generations of Randal-Brereton after William Brereton.
https://histfam.familysearch.org//getperson.php?personID=I32345&......
The profile should possibly be a managed profile as the Breretons were one of the most powerful families in Cheshire.

Thank you for noticing,
The Brereton line seems to have been merged or connected poorly. I will be entering references in the 'About' sections and trying to straighten out the line. :^(
I see Angus Wood-Salomon has worked on the line some since your posting. :^)
Angus Wood-Salomon
It does look kind of bad. I will be starting some Discussions on the problem Profiles.
