(No Name) I am getting a we are having technial difficulties please try again later with this.. as far is i know the system isn't down so what is up with that.. sorry if i am posting this in the wrong place.. Just wanted to contact the user about something so went to try and got the error screen.. Mike. Ps I think we should have a bugs and or technial difficutlies thread much like this attention curators thread with a curator note that says please post here and we'll deal with it on a case by case basis for those problems to make it easier...
Private ... I'm getting the same (technical difficulties) error on trying to view that profile. Definitely one for Mike Stangel to look at.
Help, please.
John I, King of Jerusalem & Emperor of Constantinople
shows up as my husband's 20th great grandfather, but, his father as listed on the profile
shows up as my husband's first cousin 23 times removed, and his wife
shows up as his 21st great grandmother.
Am I imagining this or is there an explanation? Thank you for your time and efforts,
Susie
And following what Harald explained, in the case of a "died young" infant being Mis merged with a same name sibling, I would do this instead:
- recreate the infant profile as completely as possible
- ask a curator to make both siblings into Master Profiles so they cannot be Mis merged in future
This is a faster, easier & less cumbersome procedure than requesting an un merge.
Susie I think the explanation is that the tree is getting so dense, the Geni relationship calculator presents different paths depending on how you approach the target profile.
I've seen it myself. I'll be 9th cousins by x removed; "walk the tree" to say the spouse and a whole different path is presented.
The other explanation is that there are un merged profiles and / or unresolved tree conflicts. The HistoryLink
Application may be the best tool to identify those profiles, specifically, for repair, resolution, and (most likely) merging.
Hello Anne,
