Check your email settings, - notifications does only go to the one marked as Primary Email Address: https://www.geni.com/account_settings/email_password
There is nothing in spam. I should mention that after two weeks of using my new e-mail address and still not receiving the newsletter, I changed my account back to my original e-mail. It is very strange because I receive all the other notifications from Geni (messages, discussion, completion of merge, etc.) on my original e-mail address.

I stayed a while without accessing the tree that rode with several family members, including full names and photos, and now, when I returned to my tree and access Geni, the names do not appear complete and does not appear the photos; how do I see them? Where am I going wrong? I want to continue my research and include new family.
Jerome F. Weber can you send pointers to the profiles concerned? There might be problems with their privacy status or with their merges. How long was "a while"?
Jerome F. Weber aha - I didn't understand that your message was in the context of the previous message.
However, I don't want to give a Google Translate-translated reply.....
Curators:
I don't know what can be done about this but I thought I'd ask.
I created my family tree in April 2010 in order to keep track of genealogy research my mother has been conducting. In January 2011 I made a handful of corrections, but have made no other changes. I have logged in for time to time, but have ~intentionally~ not approved any merges, because my family history on both sides is rife with bad genealogists who claimed as fact relationships for which there was no proof. Because of this, my family makes a point of not claiming any relationship unless we have a source to back it up.
I logged in from time to time since creating the tree, but only today did I notice that several profiles contained dates or information which I couldn't recall knowing, and there were individuals present who I did not recall having added. Further inspection revealed that the profiles were controlled by people I had never heard of. I have no idea when these merges were made, and I cannot seem to find any way to unlink these profiles.
I haven't had time to examine my entire family tree, but the profiles I've found so far appear to have no sources included.
I ~appreciate~ that geni tries to merge profiles which, logically, could be the same person, in order to facilitate the sharing of information.
However, it is purely lazy work to merge profiles if there are not actual sources to back the merge up, beyond the names and dates entered by people who have never spoken before. While it might sound nice in theory, it presents as fact what is mere conjecture on your part.
You're right - there's nothing specific we can do about this generality.
If there are bad connections, we - indeed any PRO - can correct them. A link to the "public" profile in question is needed before we "can" help, though.
If the family tree extends into clearly historic space, with many descendants, there will be common descendants on Geni; and in a Wiki environment, which Geni is, each profile may be incomplete - but the merged profile is; but perhaps not yet adequately documented, as the origination is from many member's private databases.
This is where curators can assist by using the Master Profile tool. We can "field lock" facts into place to protect and prevent degradation from erroneous additions or changes.

I would break the bad connection and send a little note to the person that did the merge and say politely please don't merge my data because you have the wrong info\sources kind of note 8 times out of ten when i do that they politely comply after verifying with me that my copy of the data is correct first.
@anna miller (mischler)
I have sent the following note to the person who added in 2007 Anna Miller (Mischler) (1710-1829) to geni:
"I would suggest that a note in the "about" field documenting her age of 119 would be appropriate, since it would be one of the longest known lifespans of modern times. (There may be only a handfull of people who have lived more than 115 years in the last couple of centuries.)"
It's not just her parents' dates that may be questioned.
@Rebecca Ruggles
I have sent the following message to the person who added in 2007 Rebecca Ruggles (b. "ca. 1692") to geni:
"Please note that Rebecca Ruggles has no documented date of birth. Her mother was born in 1663 and her daughter Elizabeth Belcher was born in 1669. Rebecca's supposed date of birth and her identity as the mother of Elizabeth must be seriously questioned."
I hope this is a more explicit statement than my earlier attempt to draw attention to this problem.
It looks like Anna Dodereas Miller has been disconnected, Andrew Quinn Champion. Can you perhaps find better information on possible parentage? Maybe start a discussion on her profile to see what other researchers have to say?
Sorry, I meant to tag Jerome F. Weber as well. You would perhaps also have an interest in a dedicated thread re: Anna.
Jerome F. Weber is correct that there is a discrepancy between her mother, her and her supposed daughter's birthdates. We should look into this. It could be due to a bad merge.
Leslie Libby - Farrand My husbands Aunt merged her tree with mine without my permission and her tree is littered with incorrect information. I sent her a message to remove her merge but she has not yet responded. She was last on in 2011. Please help in assisting me with this issue. Thank you so much.
