Private User the curators aren't supposed to touch private profiles without the approval of someone in the family group.
In this case, there are 65 Geni users in the family group of your second profile (Henry Weinstein) - perhaps some of them can help you?
The subject of changing access is thorny - there are some deceased profiles that people wouldn't like to have public (recently deceased children, for instance) - and there's also the general reluctance to "change the rules retroactively" on people who expected that what they got yesterday is what they'll see today. So I think re-evaluating the privacy rules has been pushed back a bit - there's no lack of urgent tasks to consider.
BTW, Jeffrey Shanes was logged on in February, so he probably hasn't seen your request to merge of 10 days ago yet.
Curator, please, will you help me to update my tree.
Again I have problems with the branch of my third great grandfather Christen Christensen Skov.
The path of his ancestors relations to me do not show the direct way.
Another problem is the statistic. But maybe this problem will be solved at the same time.
Thanks.
Erica - it's the father of my third GG and other of his ancestors who are the problem.
His father:
Christen Olesen, Fuurboe
"Christen Olesen is your fourth great uncle's sister's husband's brother."
Christen Olesen ought to be my fourth GG.
Last time these problems appeared curators were able to update my tree. Only curators have this access.

Several profiles in my tree are connected in different tree branches within my family tree. Which was quite normal in Denmark at that time, and specially in this part of Northern Jutland, Salling, close to Limfjorden.
To me it looks as if the Geni system is unable to cope with this automatically.
I hope, Geni will be so kind and solve this problem. And show the direct path automatically.
Ok curators.. I am not sure if this is the place for it but feel free to move it Private sent me a message today I note a lot of the " you are related" are not trust worthy. I just got one that you are following me- and the line is totally off. The Whitaker family of Maryland is well documented in a magazine from the Maryland Historical Society years ago.
There are people on line who have done DNA-- so far no connections to England other than we know its an English name and that there are Whitakers of all social classes.
If I am wrong please let me know- and verify it for me- Thank you Philip In response to this I have not been able to verify the connection from Lt. Thomas Tracy, Sr. I to John Charles Whitaker, I and do not know enough about this line to accurately do so... if some one wishes to explore and or work on this angle let me know thank you.
Michael, this is precisely the kind of genealogical question that is best done by starting a new discussion under the profiles in question (e.g. the Lt. Thomas Tracy or John Whitaker, and then referencing the other profile[s]). That way, the co-managers and followers of those profiles will all see the questions/discussion ... and they are most likely to have the info -- or know where to find it.
Starting a new discussion topic is something *any* Geni member can do.
I have been patient for some days, Private User - and noticed no recalculation circle.
In fact I did wait for Geni to update, as I understood from last time some month ago, that Geni would make an automatical update.
To me it looks like a Geni bug to be solved by Geni. Because what's the path information worth in this way?
Besides Private User
the profile Christen Olesen, Fuurboe
- was added February 20, 2014 - 3 months ago.
- has previously been updated by a Curator and
- showed again an undirect path as "Christen Olesen is your fourth great uncle's sister's husband's brother." until a few hours ago - in stead of the direct path - my 4thGG.
So - Brox - maybe it's not I who am the problem - but the Genisystem : )
Henny: Try a "reverse path" from said ancestor to your father or mother, as appropriate. To do this, you open the ancestor's profile, click on the push-pin to set relationships in terms of him/her, then open the appropriate parental profile and find out what the path says. It's a short-term temporary "fix" and doesn't always result in a permanent one, but it should make you feel better. (You will need to click the push-pin again to reset it to yourself afterwards.)
Thank you, Alex Moes :)
And thank you all for your posts.

I appreciate that "Ancestors" in my statistic now counts 13,137 - about 2,000 more than yesterday.
two quick questions.. I got a message in my inbox asking in broken english what my intrest in a old 1500 dutch line was and a invite to join the english verison of the dutch portal.. google translate is not the most effective way of dealing with the issue i have found is there a curator that is willing to translate? I don't speak dutch well at all. also I have found info on find a grave about a profile which leads me to debunk somthing that i had allready entered and i am not sure how to change it.. It seems some one in my family remaired and i didn't know about it til after the profile was made on my behalf no biggie i can add the 2nd wife or try to but the thing is she was adpoted so i am not sure how to handle her parents.. do I put latin for not known adpotee record in the parents field? How exactly does geni handle that?
