People need to differentiate between doing a Search and seeing what you are told on the one hand -- and clicking on the results of the Search (including Contact Manager or Send Message) on the other.
Basic Users do not need to ask Curators to do Searches -- but may need help from Curators (or Pros) to contact managers and/or send messages to folks with claimed profiles that they discover thru their Searches. (and may still need to use the Google work-around to actually go to to see Public Profiles)
Susan Angeline Schumacher Lostetter & Hatte Rubenstein Blejer
I went ahead with the private message inquiring about a merge. Both of you are included on the mail.
Alex Moes,
I'm not sure you wish to know if the 3 Lyman Payne profiles are the same but I'll tell you anyway since I checked :-)
The first one is private and is a duplicate of the third. The third one is a public profile Lyman Warner Payne.
The second profile is a different person. They are all males.
Thank you, Erica!
As Ann says, there are three Lyman Paynes, apparently two with the middle name Warner, and mine's middle name is Stephen. I admit to being a fanatic about middle names, but I can't see if all three are the same. I keep getting a message about merge issues, which I try to fix, and am not allowed to because I will split the tree. I have tried to edit, etc. Therefore, Erica, you are the light at the end of the tunnel and I so appreciate your help on this one. I hit a snag on someone having a guy who lived back, wayyy back, as private, also. Justin did an excellent job on explaining how that works, but I think this person may have had an embarrassing piece of history that he didn't want to share.
Thank you and I appreciate your time and efforts,
Susie
This profile should be deleted as a spouse of Abraham Eber Rosenberg. This will cause a split tree.
I have contacted the profile managers without any response. See about section. Esther KlienMan
Marie Gaschet
I need help removing from my tree a parent connection that was made. The above Marie Gaschet link was thought to be the daughter of Thomas Beaumont and that turned out to be incorrect. How can I, or someone, sever the limb? I deleted what I could, but some things have been usurped beyond my control.
Can anyone help me locate this profile on GENI Eliza M. Bennett Jennings other than the locked out on by Darline Bennett
her first husband, Henry "Harry" Bennett son of Joseph R. Bennett and Mary L. Bennett (nee Dunham). Her father was William Garline Van Deventer, and her mother was Sarah E. Cross.
I have information to add snet by another but the message did not contain any link back to her -
I have tried every variation of her name to include Bennett, Vandeventer (variously spelled) ect
Anyone can help I have entered any and all the variations I could think of into all fields, first, middle, birth name, surname; display name
I have also just tried the Suriname and spouse surname fields leaving everything else blank
I just wish everyone would use the contact button on the profile that produces the link back to the profile - so many refuses to do this and it is aggravating
I have not heard back from the person and Iam about ready to dump the info out of my message box
Judith "Judi" Elaine (McKee) Burns
would the profile you are looking for be added & managed by you?
These are the only 2 profiles for her including the private (No Name) in the stand alone tree.
Thanks @Carole (Erickson) Pomeroy,Vol. Curator
She did not Include that name in her message to me but that is the one -
like I said she did not use the contact profile button - but my view of it I do not see it probably because I am the person who added and manages it -
I will proceeded to add her info to it and maybe she will connect to it
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is already a profile for Jannetje Josephs wife of Jacob David Fonteijn. We just need to merge them.
Hello Curators. Need help with this merge please:

Curators--HELP!
I invited my brother-in-law's brother-in-law to join Geni. I entered him & his wife into Geni... her profile was @ Pauline Chapman (Rollins) but he changed her name to Ernie Pauline & added his parents & several generations back from there. He became the manager of that profile & I couldn't make any changes--did attempt to do a merger, but it had to go thru him for approval. He apparently went back into her profile Pauline Chapman (Rollins) & did make some changes, but it is no longer attached to her brother's profile (@William Rollins, my sister's husband) & his line (Chapman) of ancestors shows in the tree as being her ancestors.
He has done extensive research & documented everything on Ancestory.com so wasn't intending to repeat a lot of the Chapman/Rollins line here in Geni.
At present the personal info for Pauline is correct, but her first name is actually Emma, but she goes by her middle name of Pauline. (I suggested that he put her first name as (Emma) & middle name: Pauline & make a note of this in the nickname box. As I can't see her profile info because it is private I can't make any changes.
My brother-in-law's profile is public, but his sister (Pauline) & her husband, Ernest Chapman are still alive so their profiles are private.
I hope someone can help me untangle this branch & get it reconnected to my brother-in-law's profile (William Lawrence Rollins)
Hugs,
Pat
The profile of Pauline Chapman (Rollins) is a claimed profile, i.e a Geni user and as yourself, by default, only the user him/herself can make changes on his/her profile.
I have switched their parents, but if Pauline Chapman (Rollins) is your brother-in-law's brother-in-law we have to switch again and rename.
Patricia......technically she is Emma Pauline Chapman but if she preferred, she could have only Pauline Chapman in the 'display' area......that would serve all purposes...
But since she is now a claimed profile, you will have to request to join HIS family group.....perhaps he will be OK with the modification.....since only Pauline Chapman would show in tree view.
Greetings my fine feathered curators :-)
Could someone please unlink John Aires from Edmond Le Strange
There is no proven parents for John Aires and he is definitely not the son of Edmond LeStrange. This Edmond who was the son of Sir Thomas le Strange, of Hunstanton did not have any children.
Refer to this website about the Le Strange families => http://www.arapacana.com/reference/hypotheses.html
Thanks!
