Peter [John Peter] Lobbenberg,
The faulty information which was added comes from the MyHeritage SmartMatches which really should be rejected.
I checked her parents first and found 2 'findagrave' references. For Elizabeth I found an ancestry.com reference (http://records.ancestry.com/mary_elizabeth_hall_records.ashx?pid=17... ) with +/- the same parents and same place of birth a death. I didn't find a husband for her.
I think that thethe faulty informatin from MyHeritage Smart Matches caused the problem since the strange information; born 1900 & died 1600 matched what had added to her profile.
@Ann Vermeulen - Many thanks for this.
I suspect that Elizabeth did have a husband (and probably a Bolton), as your amendments have left various 'private' Bolton children still in the care of the 16th century parents. It looks as if those belong to Elizabeth, but because their profiles are private I can't take it further. Can you help?
Peter [John Peter] Lobbenberg can you post the nearest public profile linked to the private Bolton's? I don't see it because of the disconnnect. Ann did brilliant work on the Tennessee Hall family.
Erica Howton,
This is one of the mixed up (16th, 17th, 20th century) MYHeritage Smart Matches. Her kids were born in the 16th century but Elizabeth was born in 1900 and died in 1600 :-)
http://www.myheritage.com/research/collection-1/myheritage-family-t...
And this one died at 8 years old, in 1545, in Morgan, Alabama ... After having fathered ...Adam Bolton
These old profiles needs sourcing.
Erica Howton - Erica, it looks like Ann has either quarantined or liquidated the good lady and her 'orphan' children. I can no longer find them, anyway.
Ann, thanks so much for all your help.
Peter [John Peter] Lobbenberg,
I was able to look at a 1940 Census of the John Bolt Family which is part of the MyHeritage page of Mary Elizabeth Bolt (born Hall).
I'll let you add the profiles and then they'll be yours.
Mary Elizabeth Hall born Sept. 2, 1900 TN married John Bolt born 1899 PN. He was a salesman. He died in jul 1980 (social security death index)
children:
1- Their daughter Virginia Ann was born in +/- 1924 in Ohio ( I don't know if she is still alive). A good MH match states Oct. 4, 1923. She married Arlie Arlie Kenneth Sponholtz
2-Their son Robert was born +/- 1926 in Ohio. ( I don't know if she is still alive).
Here is the link to Mary again - Mary Elizabeth Hall
Ann - For Mary Hall (above) - have you checked what your link (on About page) brings up for someone not logged in to ancestry?? Wondering if you were seeing something else, of if it is what you meant to have.
Also -- I see the "Document" for her was not added by you - but again, wondering if it is actually useful for those of us not logged in to a paid Ancestry account? Is it useful for those who are logged in?
Lois FYI - records.ancestry (etc) that Ann linked is available to anyone, it's a free service they offer, no account needed. The quality of course is just in the nature of a "hint" - you cannot view the underlying sources without an ancestry account. But it's served up to google and a useful resource.
Most of the information about the Hall/Bolt family comes from several US Census taken in 1930 and 1920. I was able to view them via MyHeritage and I copied the information I found to Geni. You need a subscription to view them. I've never had a paid subscription for Ancestry.com. Like Erica wrote everyone can Google the free links I add from Ancestry.com..
@James Laird Kincaid V, my 7th great grandfather.
How can "Carolyn Sue Miller", the "daughter" of James Laird Kincaid V (born ca.1635), also be the current manager and a follower of Kincaid's profile. She shows up as "manager" of other profiles in this family, and a follower, as well. Tracing my path to Carolyn Sue Miller, I find she is my 7th great aunt.

This same C.S. Miller is a manager and follower of a profile for Alexandra Gwinn, est. birth between 1795 and 1841. And guess who Gwinn's 2 followers are--Carolyn Sue Miller and her father, James Laird Kincaid V, who died ca. 1700. Someone is playing a game here!

This took a little curator "X ray vision" to confirm that you are correct.
The member profile Private User (last online in 2011) is what Geni calls a "claimed historical profile"
I see these family relationships
carolyn sue miller
Immediate Family:
Daughter of James Laird Kincaid, V
Half sister of Alexander "The Pharmasist" Kincaid; David Kincaid; Joseph Kincaid; James Kincaid, IV; John Kincaid and 1 other
And as noted - James Kincaid of that Ilk died in 1700
(continued next post)
Sometimes it's a "user error" - sometimes a deliberate shortcut into the tree.
These are the actions I will now take:
From Carolyn Sue's profile
- action menu, report - "the profile has already been reported" message
- action menu, abandoned tree - "unable to find a replacement manager"
- action menu, resolve conflicting data - (it's just a case conflict)
I'll see if I can disconnect the profile; I may not be able to.
An outstanding issue is she shows as the "primary manager" on her "father's profile", which means that requests to be added as manager go to this inactive member. So I'll see if there's any workaround to change that.
I did a wrong merge.
Please unmerge
There are two profiles as "Salomon's Stad"
a) parents with Simon Stad & Susanne de Wolf (Salomon is not married)
b) parents with Abraham Stad & Belitje van Emden ( Salomon is maried with Rosette Bing Rosette Bing)
Thanks in advance
Robert
Private User - if you have the necessary information about those two different Salomon Stad's (e.g.: siblings, any children/spouses), it may be quicker to re-create the "other" Salomon and move the parents/children to it.
If you don't have that info, ask again for an un-merge and a curator can pass that on to the Geni staff (for when they have time to use the still-experimental un-merge tool).
