Faustine Darsey Remember, there were a lot of Presbyterians in northern Ireland. My g grandparents were married in a Presbyterian church.

Perfect, Michael!
I don't think that the notice was written in Germany so Bonn can not be the right place. I found only two Bonn in Untied States but this places are to far from Perry County, IN.
The first character is not a "R" in originally Suetterlin but also some other characters, differ from the original font.
So Rome must be the correct place!
I think in this document, it was a promissory note, which could be redeemed by anyone.
Heinrich Waldtschmidt therefore could pass on this promissory note to provide themselves with money.
I compared individual words with other old German characters.
The document mixed German and English words (latin?).
"Rome Den 16ten März 1857
Ich "Ender" - unter Schriebener Peter Kiltz you: N.N.
Bin schuldig an Heinrich Waldschmidt fünfzig
Thaler Welges er mir Peter Kiltz gelehnet hat
mit "intresen" zu Sechs Brohzent ???? Tag ?? und Datum
Peter Kiltz
Nancy Kiltz"
Remarks:
1. The promissory note was not issued in Germany since Peter Kiltz died in Indiana in the same year (Jul 1857).
2. second line second word: "Ender"-=Unter (thrid word) to read: Unter-Schriebener or Ender-Schriebener (correct: Unterschreibender = signers) - This word was added later (first I thought it could be the profession of Peter Kiltz but his profession is well known and does not match the words).
3. Peter Kilzt "you" or "your": N.N. (you: N.N. stands for every person who wants to redeem this promissory note)
4. "fünfzig Thaler" (this certainly not meant the German Thaler - the English translation for "fünfzig Thaler" = "fifty Dollars",
therefore the debt was fifty U.S. dollars.
5. "Welges" read "Welches" (The capital letters M and W are very similar in Suetterlin font and therefore easy to confuse if not clearly written.
5. "intresen" = interest (not perfect English but clearly!)
6. "Prohzent" = Prozent = percent (not perfect German but clearly)
7. the word between "Brohzent" and "Tag" I could not read
8. "Tag _ und Datum" ("Datum" is written in the perfect Suetterlin font and therefore to be read clearly!)

Perhaps Faustine had a point about not cluttering this discussion thread with too much discussion of this here now that we pretty much have it deciphered. Do you know of any dicussion thread or project dedicated to transcriptions of old scripts and/or translations which may be more suitable?
If not, maybe we can start one. My understanding of Sütterlinschrift is that it came later as a simplified form of Kurrentschrift which according to what I have read was introduced about 1865, ~ 8 years after this note. Perhaps I have it wrong. :) Also, I thought Date in Deutsch was Daten, not Datum.
Hello Eldon Lester Clark, ,
Actually I feel like a "rank beginner" still in this world of genealogy. There are so many things I don't know, but I am learning.
One of the things I have noticed in my family tree is about how the religious beliefs were passed down from one generation to another. It is an amazing thing to me.
Faustine Darsey Everyone needs to keep learning.
In my lines, there are those who stayed with the same religion and some did not. My fathers family were Mormons from England and they officiated at his funeral, but he married a non Mormon. My mothers line was a mixture of Huguenots and Quakers. The Huguenots seem to have changed after a few generations and when the Quakers moved west if there weren't enough other Quakers for a meeting or they married outsiders, They changed.
What I noticed Faustine were how my ancestors on the one side were all Protestants -- not a Catholic in the mix -- and in fact all were in religious groups born of Calvinism apparently (Huguenots, Scots-Irish Presbyterian, Puritans, Dutch Reform). Then came The Great Awakening and some of those old New England families joined new churches, such as LDS. So of the early founding families of the Church of the Latter Day Saints, a bunch of my New England lines and their allied families (Whitney, Kimball and others) were represented.
@MichaelBrown, I need some assistance deleting incorrect family members I had entered incorrectly.
I discovered that Samuel Ringgold had died in 1829, but was cited as the father of Marie Antoinette Naglee, born in c1840. I found evidence in the 1860 federal census in San Francisco, CA, that Marie is the daughter of George Hay Ringgold and Mary C Ringgold.
Therefore, I am asking for assistance in deleting the following persons:
Samuel Ringgold and wife, Marie A Ringgold;
George Hay Ringgold;
Virginia Ringgold;
Rebecca Ringgold.
So, I should end up with Henry M Naglee & Marie A. Naglee at the top of the tree.
Then, I may continue to build our tree correctly.
Thank you for any assistance you may be able to provide.
Richard Fosbury, Manager
Dick Fosbury They have been cut out of your tree but not deleted There is a probable merge with General Samuel Ringgold.
Dick Fosbury Actually there were 2 merges with merge with General Samuel Ringgold. I completed them.
I have laid the foundations for some projects which are a huge undertaking but I think probably should be attempted - British Politicians (umbrella project); 19th Century British Politicians;20th Century British Politicians; 21st Century British Politicians.
I hope some of you will dip your toes and add some profiles to these when you have nothing better to do!
Sorry should have given some links:

This has been fixed and should be available to be worked with.
Private User re: John Justice, of Charles City & Augusta & his many doppelgängers, all inconveniently married to women named Mary.
I want you to know that this is a case of genealogical unjustness. And several heroic, not to mention brave, curators & admins are galloping to the rescue to right the wrong. It may take time yet and several ridiculous workarounds but by god Justice will prevail. One day. :)
More seriously - I think we're almost there and your notes have helped a lot.
GENI - Louis DeLuca Jr. was connected to Beverly Despres (Johnson) as her husband with children Chris Despres, (No Name), Louis A. Despres and Jean-Louis Louis Despres.
Dec 29, 2010 at 8:49 PM ·
As far as I can tell, Geni mistakenly connected Louis DESPRES's family to my nephew Louis DELUCA's tree. I have since been able to eliminate ALL data from the individual erroneous blocks and install fake names but I can not delete the blocks because the" tree will be split." This data only exists in this one location. SO HOW CAN THE TREE BE SPLIT?
Also, Louis DELUCA's profile has Louis DESPRES's e-mail address
listed and I can't change or eliminate it because I won't allow me to edit it. PLEASE HELP!!!
I am at a loss as to what to try next. Please help.
Jan Boleslaw Kowza I think you're almost there with the correction & it looks like you're stymied on the last step. Please confirm for me - you need Private & child to be disconnected as an ex spouse from Louis?
Jan Boleslaw Kowza I have problems seeing what you are doing. It seems that (No name) has tried to clear her own entry, and that you have been removing data from profiles around her. The profiles called "Junk name" probably can't be deleted because they've got relationships with "Unknown" (a weird Geni bug) - you have to delete those relationships from the relationships tab before you can delete the profile.
Usually when the profile represents a real person, deleting the data in the profile is the wrong solution. Attaching the profile in the right place, or even just splitting the tree and letting it float, is usually better. But since I don't know what's right for this tree, I don't know what should be done.
Splitting the tree can usually be achieved from the relationships tab (or by calling for help from a curator).
I would hope that someone can help? A couple of years back I brought up an issue where I had entered a Great Aunt, She is also the Grandmother of my Sister-in-Law and she (my sister-in-law) is also my Second Cousin. My sister-in-law entered info on her Grandmother and now my Great Aunt's Profile show her as my Brother's Wife's Grandmother.
The next thing that has happened is that my 3rd Great Grandmother had re-married after her husband my 3rd Great Grandfather died. The man that she married was my 4th Great Grandfather from a different family line. The problem that this caused was when you pull up my 4th Great Grandfather's profile he is no longer my 4th Great Grandfather but the Husband of my 3rd Great Grandmother and the other side of the family.
The problem that this has caused is my 4th Great Grandmother who was the first wife of my 4th Great Grandfather (he had 6 or 7 wives some at the same time). My 4th Great Grandmother now shows as the sister to my 4th Great Grandfather's wife. The latter has happened as others have updated or added info to profiles. I know that I am no longer a PRO but since I don't have the funds to buy the PRO status it would seem that I went from over 100,000 blood relatives to 3184 could it be that other profiles have been changed and I have lost my relatives.
Please help retrieve my relatives from the past.
David Alan Blair,
It sounds lt that because of intertwined relationships your original paths need to be readjusted. That isn't hard to do by visiting the profiles involed and then clicking the little 'basket' with 2 arrows along the edge. When you 'hover' over it you can see when the path was last calculated to you. Jennifer or a curator like me, can do it for you. Your own profile would have to be the profile that has been 'pinned'. You'll need ti post LINKS for those profiles we need to find them in your tree.
Jennifer, do you know how to recalculate paths? Otherwise I'll do it for David.
BTW if Jennifer did the recalcualting it could take several weeks before you see the correct relationships. I would see a new calculation right away.
Erica Ezabel Howton (C): I would like Junk Name c, removed; her ancesters Junk Name a & b and her decendants, "d & No name" removed from the tree.
Also, I am locked out of my nephews info (Louis Deluca Jr), but it contains my brother in laws e-mail address????? Is the e-mail address the thing that determines who can access it? If so, I hope my Brother in law can correct that error.
Thanks.
It would be great if you would do that, Private User! I'll help him make whatever changes he'd like to profiles he can't access right now. We're in each other's family group and share management of some overlapping profiles, so I thought that if I add him as a manager to the others that he's concerned about, that might help as well. Thank you so much!
Jan Boleslaw Kowza you may need to give your nephew a call - he is registered as an active Geni user, and was last logged on less than a week ago. I assume that he's set his permissions so that only he can edit his profile - I think that's the default setting, so if he's logged in and just set his password (as he's prompted to do), this will be the result.
Who's your brother whose email you think is on the profile?
