Dan Cornett: There are two instances for the following profiles Kurt Scheier and Frida Scheier. They are husband and wife, but also first cousins on my mother's side of the family. How can this be resolved? or should it be resolved?

That is not that unusual......it is probably fine......tho we do not allow that close a marriage now, it was often the case in the past......you will sometimes find a marraige certif in the 1800's where the parties have to state that they are not closer than 2nd cousins....(a result of too close 1st cousin marriages being panned as not proper?)
Anything that's physically possible for humans to do has happened at one time or another, and the results, if documented, need to be represented on Geni.
I have at least 2 cases where a woman bore a child with her own father (one from saga times, one historical times) - in both cases, the sources are very clear on this being the case.
As Fay said, in New England in the early part of the Great Migration, I've found many instances of 1st cousin marriages. Well, given the paucity of choices it was bound to happen. I would like to know how the GENi relationship algorithm calculates that, though... because you end up with a lot of "double" relationships.
Thanks for all the input. In other words, it should be left alone. I have other instances in my tree where there are marriages between cousins - however, this is the only instance where 1st cousins married. There were no children from this union. I will ignore the notation of there being duplicates in my tree for this relationship.
Private User -- No, no reason to leave the duplicates - merge them. You want to create a "cycle". I suspect the info you were looking for may be here:

Lois Lublin: I looked at your response and also the help file. Apparently these profiles are already part of a "cycle", so there is nothing more to be done. The places where they appear in the tree are appropriate to their parents and also to their spouse. I guess that there is no way to combine them into one according to the explanation given. I can live with them being in the tree twice.
Please remove this mistaken merge from my tree.

No great solutions I'm afraid. Here's how William J. Clinton, 42nd President of the USA is represented
Here's how Steve Jobs is represented
