Your reply to "ATTENTION Curators, please assist":
Please change @Tara Lucy (Bullock) ? & @Dixie Helton (Bullock) to step sisters of @John le grange bullock and @Harry as as step father. He is not related to any of the fore mentioned kids. He is Virginias last husband.

Thank you.

Why not just move the children to the proper parent combination.

Trudy Lee Webb, this is something you can easily fix. Edit the profile of Tara & Dixie. Go to the relationship tab and select the "Parents" pull down menu. Select Virginia & John.

If you're still having trouble, just post back and we can do it for you.

Maven - and others wishing for the merges you mentioned -- have you sent a geni-Message to the Manager, explaining your relationship - to them and/or the profile(s) you want to merge, requesting the merge, and inviting them to contact you to let you know whether or not they are willing - plus with any questions they have?

If not, that is definitely something you can do. Many of us are much more likely to respond if we are contacted that way. (And yes, the message may sit for a long time before noticed and/or responded to - but still is worth doing.)

I received some e-mail notifications today from Geni that someone is questioning information in some of my profiles. How do I contact that person, since the e-mail was from a no reply address from Geni? I am trying to determine his interest in that particular branch of my family.

Private User,
There is a place in to click on within the notification. It will tell you to reply to the message there. Just look a little closer and you'll see it.

(Geni is like a mailman with these notifications. It's just 'carrying' the notification to you for the person who wishes to contact you.)

Curators,

Can someone please confirm when Samuel Hull

Samuel Hull

was last online as my numerous attempts to contact him regarding his private profiles have come to nothing.

Thank you, Jonathan

Trudy - whose children, exactly, are Tara and Dixie, and are you missing a parent somewhere?

Jonathan Evans Samuel Hull Last online 2002, tree reported as abandoned. I could not make anything public out to the top of his tree in 1700. Please post links to profiles you are interested in.

@Jonathan, Samuel Hull was last online in 2008, so it's unlikely you'll get an answer. He was online just for one day, so he probably uploaded a GEDCOM and left. Just cancel any merge requests with his tree - it's unlikely that he'll ever return.

Correction, last online 2008.

Jonathan Evans Samuel Hull's tree shows DOB 1855 Reported as claimed historical profile

@ Ann Vermeulen: Apparently these were notifications that the person had a suggested update for some of my profiles. When I clicked on the link I was given a choice of which information I deemed to be correct. When I highlighted my choice and saved it the supposed conflict was resolved. There was no way to contact the person who made the notification to me regarding those profiles. I was trying to find out how he is connected to that branch of my family.

It sounds like your profile was merged with another and there was a data conflict. The Profile that was merged should now have another manager added to it, you can contact them by clicking on his/her name in the "Managed by:" list on the overview, which will take you to their profile and you can select to send a message.

Sometimes the merges are done by someone other then a manager of a profile. Their name would of been listed on a notification in your "Inbox" under the "Requests", you should be able to see who "requested that you update" the Profile. Select the "Requests" "History" and look for the date the message was sent and/or a message such as, example "Carole Pomeroy (the name of the person) requested that you update Joyce Eastman's (the name of the profile you updated) profile". You can then click on the persons name, it will take you to the persons profile, where you can select to send them a message.

@ Carole (Erickson) Pomeroy - Thanks for your reply. I did in fact find him listed in my "Requests" section, and sent him a message. Thanks again.

@rvk All 3 hunted down and laid to rest.

I'm trying to help a relative to enter our familytree. She joined the tree in 2011 but have forgotten her login.
I entered her e-mailaddress from her profile into ”Don’t know your password”.
But that's not enough. Geni asks for her phoneno. too.
Why is this necessary? Why is her e-mailaddress not enough?

No suggestion here that Geni would do that: http://help.geni.com/entries/466610-Lost-Password

Is this another example where they changed something, but failed to document the change -- or ??? Suspect this is not actually on topic, except in the sense that hopefully Curators may know the answer.

Your cousin, herself, needs to follow the directions on the link Lois posted

http://help.geni.com/entries/466610-Lost-Password

It is standard practice now on the Internet to require more identifying details, and there is nothing in the FAQ to contradict any enhancement to site security.

Hope this helps.

Erica Isabel Howton - I'll tell her, but I'm not sure she wants to inform about her telephone no.
She is an elderly woman, and it was the easiest way to bring her back to the tree if I put her e-mail address in "Don't know your ....". Only she would be the one to read the new login from Geni.
- But thank you for your reply : )

It may be quite possible to "skip" the telephone number field request without a problem - it is on other sites. (I don't want to reset my own password so don't want to try it!)

Any ideas on a translation?

I have a census that says a man was: nefeenger uffenate OR nefsenger uffenate.......

In a later census he was an engineer...

Any ideas?

I just created an interesting project: http://www.geni.com/projects/Kings-of-Nepal-1768-2008/17190 that emerged from my interests. However not being a) related b) not even Nepalese, I believe finding a person who could add more data (especially with the other branches of Shah family, which could connect that small tree to the Geni tree) would be essential.

I also think that all of these profiles (11 so far) deserve to be MPd. :)

Finally, I'd like to know which projects could be connected to that one. I couldn't find anything about Nepal or Southern Asia dynasties...

That does sound like an interesting project to take on and if you are successful it looks like we could overtake Wikipedia in that area! They do have a list of kings you could use as a starting point on the front page, but the few that I attempted to find on Geni don't seem to have profiles yet let along family trees, so one suspects that it will be a mammoth task. I have no expertise in this area at all so don't think I would be of any help at all but wish you luck in the endeavour.

Hi Terry,

I already added the complete list in this project, and the full families of the last three kings (Gyanendra, Birendra, Dipendra). The real tough job would be to add all siblings and children of King Tribhuvan and his ancestors. But I'll try to do my best. ;)

Best wishes,

KW

P.S.
And another good news, I just merged one royal family member into another one, married to the noble family from India, therefore they're all part of the big tree now. :)

Well done! If you want profiles MP'd then send the urls and we'll take a look.

Thanks a lot, Terry. I believe these three profiles deserve to be MP'd:

King Dipendra of Nepal
King Birendra of Nepal
King Mahendra of Nepal#

These are 3 of 4 last kings of Nepal, and their genealogies are complete (in terms of parents, siblings, wives and children).

Best wishes,

KW

Done, - I suggest you add the Nepali and Hindi names to the Also Known As field so they can be found by search.

Good point Bjørn, I'll do that. Thanks a lot. :)
