I'd recommend putting in the ticket today.
I've had the same issue for months now and no amount of waiting around has changed anything.
Jan Harms Mooskoocker is shown by Geni as my 8th great grand father, this is true for one branch of the family but he is actually my 7th great grandfather on my P-line but for what ever reason the path software chooses to follow a less direct path to him and no amount of "following the path" by me has made any difference.
Jeff's app, which can be found here
http://www.geni.com/projects/HistoryLink/14021
Can identify "problem profiles"
Worth a try (plus the app is great !)

Lot´s of work to be done.
Are you able to track down who might have done it. Are there any messages in your e-mail box about the deletions? It would help if you know one or more of the profiles that were directly connected to the deleted profiles. Public profiles are usually easier to restore than private one´s, but i believe all of them are restorable to CS (Customer Service) and the user who did it should have contacted you first before such "operation". Is it because of privacy or false data or something like that, but just deleting without consulting, contacting managers and without any notice is just unethical, malicious and violation of terms of use
If you were on the profiles as a manager NOONE can delete your info.....they CAN only detach it......
If you re-enter a profile you should get a 'tree match' to the detached section. (starting with that particular person).
But you need to contact the manager who did the de-tach to find out what the problem is (if possible)....or talk directly with one of your Curator collaborators to assist you if you cannot take care of it yourself.
P.S. Don't blame you for being upset.....it has happened to me.....a whole section being 'deleted'.......when it wasn't actually erased....just de-tached and floating around waiting to find its way home...
I panicked......stay calm.......it is NOT gone.
::-)
Please could you help me unlink a profile? Erroneously added and now stuck!
Schalk Benjamin Robinson
He needs to be unlinked from his father!
Thanks!
Fay Elizabeth Dyer - unless there has been a major recent change - yes, it is possible for folks to delete info within a Profile you manage and quite possible for folks to Delete Profiles you manage - either purposely or by accident (do not want to test this, obviously). Also possible for folks to delete you as a manager if the Profile is within their Max Extended Family but not within yours.
Christer Byklum - If you were the Primary Manager and the Profile was deleted, you a) should have gotten a message that it was deleted (at least that used to happen) and b) should be able to find a list of all such Profiles here: http://www.geni.com/list/deleted - along with the option to undelete them.
Lois....I said nothing about info 'within' a profile....just the profile itself....it canNOT be deleted by anyone other than the SOLE manager....so another person canNOT delete a profile you set up....the message comes up telling you that you cannot.....they can, however, detach a profile so that it is floating somewhere....they are retrievable.
There is potential for confusion here. In a way, Lois and Faye, you are both correct but you are both in error! or perhaps just not quite succinct.
I think you'll find that a profile can indeed be deleted by anyone even when it has a sole manager however the manager will receive notification of the deletion and can reverse it.
Commonly the deletion is in fact a detachment from its tree so that it becomes a floating or 'Orphan' profile. These can be searched for and attached in the correct place.
I hope this is clear.
re: ability to delete ... you can only delete if the profile has an 'X' on it in the Tree View; sometimes, even if you are 'sole-manage' the profile, you can't delete it because of the number & type of connections to it (e.g.: you can't delete a profile from out of the "middle" of a tree; only if it is sort of "on the edge").
Hi Curators. Are you able to reverse the merging of this profile? It is only one profile and done 3 hours ago.
