Private User,

I don't think that it should be done as there is conflicting data that needs to be cleared out properly, before a curator would even think of disconnecting her from her parents.

Kevin

You mean 40 years older than the parents?
The data conflict tells me that we should not trust any dates here and should not use that as an argument to cut a connection.

What is the genealogical facts/sources?

Mary Pearsall born c1621 canNOT be dau. of Rip Claes Van Dam born 1661.

Forget the dates, - what is the sources?

Sarah Pearsall
Her dates correspond with the husband and children. No sources listed, very little on the husbands.

40 yrs younger then her parents Bjørn, not older. Looks like she was probably miss-merged into this generation, the supposed parents Gov. Rip Claes Van Dam and Sarah Laurens Van der Speigel have listed dau. Mary & Sarah.

I suspect she belongs in a earlier generation or possibly not even of this line, the earliest profile is for Rip van Dam estimated between 1572 and 1632 but there is no information to support this connection. Rip VAN DAM is connected to son Claes Ripse Ripse van Dam b.1637.

Good luck

Thank You Erica Howton ! - John Smith

My mistake Bjørn, 40 yrs older, as Fay Baldwin listed the profiles dates.

Private User done as requested. From notes in the husband's profile apparently is not known if his wife's name was Sarah or Mary, her parents are not known, and there are some records that indicate "Mary van Dam." This explains some if the confusion of the "data conflicts" screen.

I somewhat arbitrarily went with the "oldest Geni record" which was for Sarah (unknown) & added Mary van Dam as an AKA.

Queens did not exist around 1645 so I changed the death location to Long Island, which is where what is now Queens is located.

There should be Pearsall histories to pursue for more clarification on the line.

I thank you for bringing this up.

Hello Curators! As mentioned before, I requested to merge with an abandoned tree. I was asked to make duplicates of the abandoned tree. I have done most of it. Can you please now merge the tree?

Here are some of the duplicates to be merged:

Private

Private

Lillian Potter

Alexander Williamson (Sandy) Grant

Edward Margetson

Thank you Erica Howton. And yes, 40 years older. Sorry for the confusion.

Can someone please help me merge these profiles?

http://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000008308034779?return=merge_...

Shoba, no, we cannot merge those two profiles. The profile on the right, managed by Rekha Dabrai Bajaj is a private profile.

I realize that she has not been online in a very long time, but her profile for Mangumal, as living and private, is off-limits, even to curators.

Mangumal Bajaj is long deceased. He must have been born in the early 1800s.

Direct ancestors are protected farther back than collateral relatives. Can somebody try to give the manager a nudge?

Information Only

A quick look at the managers profile shows very little activity, even when she was active; 38 profiles added, 2 invited, and 37 managed. No photos or documents. Hardly even an abandoned "tree". More like a twig.

Still waiting for assistance please Curators.

Shoba, the private profile for Mangumal Bajaj is now deceased, but it is still PRIVATE. I repeat, I cannot merge them.

Jaak is helping me...thank you.

Why bother...just decline the match....

Hi Curators,

I need a boost with the merge of Dorothy bezumny. She married twice, once to apfeld and once to langburt. thanks!

http://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000006336927719?from%5Fflash=...

She is user herself, in a separate tree, which means that she have to approve the merge herself.

Hi curators, I request your help as me and my cousin who made the change were not able to undo the change: my cousin changed my profile and made me a wife of my uncle (!!), the uncles name linked to me is Kiem Hway TAN, could you please help me to de-link me from him? Thank you

Hong Sien Kwee

Unfortunately, you're going to have to fix this yourself. Try using the Move function to get your profile moved back to where it belongs, and then change the details as needed.

Hi Curators, another point I just saw is that after merging my tree with that of my cousin, I am somehow not a manager anymore of my own profile! Possible to get it back? How do I go about doing that? Do I need to send a request to my cousin to make me a manager of my own profile?

I can't see any managers listed on your profile.

There is however a situation where you can see managers listed on user profiles, and that is when the profile is not fully claimed, usually just invited. To fix that you have to make sure that you have set a permanent password.

Hello!
I made a mistake - merged 2 profiles into one, but they are different people - is there a way to disconnect them?
I'm talking about this profile: Baron Seved Bosson Bååt, till Härlunda - second one, of course, wont shows anymore :(

Mr. Osis
No way to unmerge, you'll have to make a new profile and separate the relatives out between them one by one

well... that's bad, but what to do.. Thanks!

Private User - are you unfamiliar with http://help.geni.com/entries/487543-What-are-Curators- - Which includes the statement that Curators can "View and edit any profile including Private Profiles when requested by a user." and/or with the Privacy Policy http://www.geni.com/company/privacy where it says now: "Geni Curators have the ability, at a user’s request, to assist the user in merging and correcting errors in their tree, including the user’s own profile and those of close relatives. " [note: "correcting errors"!!]

The latter seems to restrict to requests that come from a person within the Private Profiles' family group - the former does not seem to - but either way KWEE Hong Sien 郭鳳信 (GuoFengXin) 's request should fall under those that Curators can help with. (or am I missing something?)

Alex Moes - not sure if you are aware of http://www.geni.com/discussions/128297 - nor if Mike's "undo script" is ready for Curators to use in situations such as Mr. Osis - but it seems now there is at least a partial way to unmerge which Curators may possibly have access to. [If anyone has any other references to it / info on it -- I would be grateful for the info - sure hope it is coming right along and is working]
