Sorry Sally I got caught up in it and forgot to mention to whom it was intended. I must learn to curb my temper.
Again Sorry, most of the Geni users are sensible and friendly people, and only a few i have encountered are egoistic and rude. Im new to Geni (just over a year) but i find it fascinating and i hope that some day someone will merge into my tree, because i seem to have reached a dead end in Canada and i will have to go to England to research that part of my family.
You are talking about being the primary manager, - on the profiles you are "missing" you are still listed as a manager, you still get merge issues attached to them, and the only difference is who get "Contact Profile Manager" messages.
As I said: Just take a closer look.
I have asked Geni to remove the whole primary manager concept because it makes only quarrels from people who don't understand that they have not lost any rights to the profile.
When two profiles get merged the rule on who becomes the primary manager is simple and quite fair: If equal number of managers: The profile with most details, i.e. the one who have made the best job with it, wins. If one profile already have become a main profile through several merges and collaboration between managers it will continue to be the main profile.
When it comes to who get listed as Added By it is even simpler and also quite fair: The one who added the profile first is listed.
Walter...it sounds like you should have asked for help months ago when the problem first started, as well as found out what joining the Big Tree involved. Geni/the curators can fix a small problem when it is first found, but now with thousand of messed up profiles, they are not going to be able to fix anything...the curators are volunteers trying to help...barraging them with insults gets you nowhere. We are all just human...treat people and their items the way you would want to be treated. Unfortunately, please like Anne are going to be out there, and we just have to learn to deal with them. However, if you ask for MP status, and follow the profile, you will know when something gets changed.
Can someone untangle the mess around my 8th great grandfather, Richard Williams and his father, William Williams, please? Two trees have been mingled, that should be separated. My 9th great grandfather William Williams had Elizabeth, Richard (my ancestor), Jane, Roger, John, and Samuel. The other William Williams apparently had Matthew and other children. Brian Utz is the manager of the William Williams who is not my ancestor and I don't know how to undo the merges that someone (me?) did in error and I don't want to mess up his family tree.
Here is material on MY Williams line:

Thank you for the help mystery curator. The only thing I need to do now is find a tree for the two children (Matthew and William) who do NOT belong to William Williams and either of his wives. I have written the person who belongs to those profiles, but I suppose at worse, I'll create another William Williams and some unknown wife and hook them to him. Their location and dates are all wrong and of course they are not in the fairly good records of William Williams.
Cab some curator solve this:

She has parents who are some 700 years older than herself.

probably there is a living person in the family group or too recent in time.
The rest of the merges are done.
Here is another
Matilda of Boulogne, duchess of Brabant
Maud is 12th century, but daughter of Marie Deasaulnier from 18th century.
Hoping a curator might be able to answer this question before it get's rolled into infinity (active discussions).

Something appears to have gone wrong with the About Me section in this one:
For some reason, a lot of carriage returns are not being displayed and the lack of carriage returns has turned the text into a garbled mess. Kind of hard to defend assertions in the basic information if the defense is unreadable...
Anyone with suggestions?
Dunno... just found the same problem in this one:
Robert I, king of West Francia
