Could somebody, please, explain this here to me?
Why does the listing of relationship not show the most blood related path? Or both paths?
I was wondering about the result when I searched my relations to Laust Nielsen Ladefoged 1777-1839.
Niels Christensen Engsnap Ladefoged
Niels Christensen Engsnap Ladefoged is your fourth great grandfather
L
His son:
Laust Nielsen Ladefoged
Laust Nielsen Ladefoged is your third great aunt's father.
His daughter Maren Laustdatter was married to Christen Christensen, who was the brother of one of my second grand mothers.
Mette Marie Christensdatter
-----------------
Why not the most blood related path:
Niels Christensen Engsnap Ladefoged
Niels Christensen Engsnap Ladefoged is your fourth great grandfather
His daughter:
Else Nielsdatter Engsnap, Ladefoged
Else Nielsdatter Engsnap is your third great grandmother.
Why did Geni not let me know that Laust Nielsen Ladefoged 1777-1839 was the brother of my third great grandmother, when I searched for my relations to him.
I knew he was, and was surprised at the result. And I’m thinking of other relations to profiles in the world tree, because several has more than one path.
Is’nt it at kind of a problem?
Private User,
On the right, next to "Laust Nielsen Ladefoged is Henny Odby Nielsen's third great aunt's father." on the top of his profile page, you will see a CIRCLE with an arrow on the right and left side of it. Try clicking on this arrow and if there is another, possibly better path it will be recalculated for you.
I hope this will help you to find better & more accurate paths.
An example of how the path search works for a pro-user in here:
In the first place I was informed about this path:
Laust Nielsen Ladefoged
Laust Nielsen Ladefoged is your third great aunt's father.
And after Brox has opdated the path - which only curators are able to - the path is another:
Laust Nielsen Ladefoged is Henny Odby Nielsen's fourth great uncle
A kind of the same problem with path results.
Yesterday I used the push pin to find a possible relation between man and wife, as two branches in my existing tree are involved in this marriage.
The only result was this here, which I already knew : )
Christen Christensen is Maren Laustdatter's husband.
Maren Laustdatter
Christen Christensen, Grove
Looks as if there is nothing we can do about it. But hopefully Geni will make it work in a better way the future : )
I tried to add the following profile to the Centenarians Project, but was unable to have that project come up as an option. Can you help please?

Hello,
I've got the question about these two profiles:
Unknown Profile
Walter de Cornwall
Aren't they the same person?
Some assistance is needed merging Private User based on this help request. http://help.geni.com/entries/22287500-who-can-have-two-fathers-
I don't have time to do it right now as I'm not sure how deep it goes, so I figured I'd post to here.
Hi, .... You are correct about the Epstein / Eastman name change ... but her grandfathers birth name was not Epstein, either! I think you will find that name-change noted in Linda Louise Eastman McCartney's family tree; many immigrants got new names when they came the U.S. during that time period (her grandparents arrived in 1906 from Russia).
I will note that you are not supposed to take on someone else's name on Geni ... that is a violation of Geni's terms of usage.
Why is it that I cannot correct the birth order for this person: Franc Ferlan
He is the 5th in the family, but whenever I set his birth order to 5 it promptly reverts back to being 1.
