Elisabeth de Vermandois, dame de Crépy
This is the Master Profile of Elisabeth de Vermandois , daughter of 30 persons, the wife of 22, the mother of 96 and is managed by 280. Perhaps a profile should and could first be cleared of mess before it becomes a Master Profile?
Hi Nicolas,
My poor great grandma.
Believe it or not, she's in better shape than she was when I found her.
We decided the better way to stop the madness was make a Master Profile *first* and detangle after.
By the way, I kindly allowed another (actually I think it's three) of her many descendants to take on that task.
I have been waiting for weeks for merges that need to take place in the Stickney line. Can any one make this happen? I am at a dead end with merges... Just waiting for approval on the merges that I have attempted to make over the last month or 2.... obvious matches. My Stickney line is inpecable... Do not understand the delay.
Can someone please merge this profile?

Thank you.
Regarding Anita's earlier post regarding George Washington's profile, when opening from a project: I'm still getting the same problem. When I go to his MP from the search list, I see it does not list him for any projects. Could that be the problem? Does someone collaborating on projects he should be a part of re-add him?
Erica... You recently updated a profile (or at least I noticed recently) for Thomas Button... He is also in my family tree and I am trying to clean up some major duplications, we had some 7 parents listed for him.
I tried to merge all the profiles, and there is one that is very different, so I am not sure how to get rid of it. Also, one that you have updated... his death date is listed in Ancestry.com as June 26, 1617. This is not so, it is actually June 23, 1617... here is some info to back it up from another member, also additional info about his parents also being listed here incorrectly which wrongly makes him a knight.
Can you help fix this... I don't have access to change them. I have merged the ones I can, but can't change the wrong info outright.
Thanks!!

This information is incorrect. "June 26, 1617 is the date that Thomas Button was buried. He died June 23, 1617. Source: Parish Records, Harrold, Bedfordshire, England.

This Thomas Button was not the son of Margaret Lewis & Miles Button. I have found no government records or pedigrees to connect Matthias and his father Thomas to the Buttons of the parish of St. Nicholas, Co. Glamorgan. Thomas, the son of Miles, was very much alive in 1616 since he was knighted 30th August, 1616. Please visit my Ancestry site and view my sources for Thomas Button, the son of Miles. Mildred L. Gowdy
As I look into this more, I think I will eventually need assistance with his wives and children also... but I need to do the research first. I just can't imagine he had 20 children (5 of them all being Mary).
Then there are 2 Elizabeth Lettice Button's and a Lettyce Button (wives) that I suspect are probably all the same person...
But again, needs research and I can't think anymore today, need some relaxing games.
can we kill some zombies in this area of the tree?

thank you
Is anyone else having difficulties with the Relationships window? The one where you are able to disengage relationships yourself (as long as they don't "split the tree")?
My experience right now, working with the Ostrogoth line, is that:
(1) either the timer is set too short, where it cuts off the hunt for all the relationships before it has the chance to pull them up (saying it's taking too long)
(2) or the search program has some sort of bug in it that's causing it to take forever (or at least much longer than the timer allows).
I'm trying to maneuver one of the profiles from one location to another in the Ostrogoth line (a source had a tree placement wrong), and I can't do that on my own if the Relationships window keeps stalling out.
Is the tech team working on something that's causing things to slow on the site? (Taking deep breaths...)
Probably a more constructive way to put this is:
Any curator want to help deal with the mess I've made in the Ostrogoth line?
The maneuvers I'm trying to make are:
(1) move Wideric from his (son) relationship with Vinitharius to (son) relationship with Berimud. Step one has been completed, where he has been "moved" to being son of Berimud. Still to be completed is the removal of the relationship with Vinitharius.
(2) move Vandalarius from (son) relationship with Wideric to (son) relationship with Vinitharius. Step one has been completed, where he has been "moved to being son of Vinitharius. Still to be completed is the removal of the relationship with Wideric.
(3) removal of (Generation 14) as wife of Wideric (she is already connected to Vandalarius)
This should correct the lineage so that I can add in the supporting information for all these relationship changes.
the related profiles would probably help...
(Generation 13)
Berimud, Counselor to Theodorid I of the Visigoths
Vinitharius "the Just", Warlord of the Ostrogoths
Wideric, Exiled King of the Ostrogoths
You know, the whole "Roadblock Curator" concept is really starting to get annoying. I'll put up with it, of course, but when a curator sits on a profile for weeks at a time blocking merges because he or she wants to "do something" with the profile, it really slows things down, it seems to me.
The process for cleaning up a profile seems painfully easy to me. Maybe I'm not getting something here. (1) Remove duplicate passages from the About Me section, (2) Review what you have left, (3) Conform the Basic and Relationship information to what is left in the About Me section.
Even for painfully mutated profiles from the Carolingian-Capetian War Zone, I can't see the process taking more than an hour or two at the most. If you want to research additional information, cool, but that doesn't require a block on a profile, it seems to me.
Forgive the venting, but it gets frustrating watching your Merge Center go from 9 hanging merge issues to 25 because of what appears to be an ill-thought-out block... moving on to a different part of the tree... -Ben.
