@Del Packer I dont know how to tell this politely but I will do my best. The only person who has been involved in these wonderful Merges was/is the said Sandra Jacalyn Haley who I have asked to not continue to meddle in an area that she has no understanding of. She continues as we speak. Her answer to fixing her mess, is for me to upgrade to PRO and for me to fix it. All GENI needs to do is (1) give me the ability to edit "my" tree { remove the crapp caused a well intentioned but uninformed(2) exclude any/all outside manipulation (3) and then I may look at Upgrading.

Terry, this whole mess was created by a Pro user. So I guess the description describes the program and not the User. No disrespect meant Terry and I my have to take you up on your offer.

Del, you can edit your own tree however as a non-pro you cannot merge without collaborating. If you collaborate I'm sure we (0r you) could solve the problem as it seems to be a matter of a lot of duplicate profiles. If these duplicates are incorrect then we decline the merge requests.

I understand your grief at someone else interfering incorrectly with your tree and as a curator want to help. I have helped others who felt similarly to you, in fact were on the point of abandoning Geni and they were very pleased with the end result so I hope you will consider accepting the collaboration request I have sent.

Del, it looks to me as though Sandra has merged Edward Shelford with her own profile so that she and another person now also manage this profile and he has a wife that you don't agree with and a son Oliver Edward Shelford by this other wife. Am I right? Do you think these connections should be cut?

Looking at the previous page of this discussion thread, I would agree with Carole that you need to make public (temp) the profile for James Robinson assuming that it is a duplicate as you are manager of both.

Delroy PackerMy GM Ellen Haddon Robinson first married Peter Christian Woller, 2nd Gordon Cunningham (no children). Her Parents James Rowe Robinson and Maraea Shelford (Robinson). Maraea's parents, Oliver Edward Shelford and Iritana Te Paenga.

Oliver Eward Shelford had anolder brother called Edward Shelford .
Their Father was an Edward Shelford who had three wives with 1 child to each wife. Tree now only shows the 2 sons, no longer shows wives maiden names.

@Delroy Packer I can fix your tree but will need you to temporarily make the profiles public as I can't touch them whilst they are private. Starting with those where there's a problem as we may not need to touch the others.

James Rowe Robinson's parents were William Robinson and Roka Matarau

FYI: Del Packer Another way to have Terry Jackson (Switzer) help you out is to invite her to "join your family" (go to her profile, then look under Action button's menu). Once she is finished helping clean up, either of you can "disconnect' from the family group. -- The main advantage of this alternative is that you don't have to take the profile public during the clean-up.

Help, please. Somehow Sgt. Abraham Staples Sergeant Abraham Staples, Sr. acquired an extra wife, and I can't get rid of her. Abraham and the two Randall sisters were each married only once.

-> Abraham Staples was married to Mary Randall, not Hannah.

-> Hannah Randall (Mary's sister) was 1 of Deacon John Warham's 3 wives.

-> Mary Randall is the mother of all of Abraham Staples's children.

-> John Waham is the father of all of Hannah Randall's children.

-> Hannah Randall had at most 5 children, not 15. (I haven't checked to see which of John;s wives goes with his children.)

There are some other problems in this family (duplicates for starters), but splitting the tree would be a good start.
