i cannot disconnect anyome..and this person not only marrried well ( into both sexes) but a long long and many times *(100+ over 300 years) ^U^ many i would be tired!

Sounds like Mormon leader.

I can easily cut all connections and delete all the profiles without a name, but I have to warn Private User who have inherited these profiles first.

There will however be a lot of unconnected profiles we have to find a place to connect,

There is no manager to this profile- and probably the reason for a pending merge.

Either my bug was fixed by Geni or I was able to force the relationship to be re-calculated. I went to my ggg grandmother Fanny Williams whose mother and father were showing up as my distant cousins and pushed the push pin and then calculated her relationships up the tree. Then MY relationships, e.g.. to Governor Thomas Dudley (my 9th great grandfather now) started showing up correctly.

I resolved the ljams merge, made the profile an MP, and added to "Mareen Duvall" project.

Will take a look at Mareen's profile in a minute.

OK, Mareen is merged up. I'll continue around him also.

These two were not married and need to have their relationship broken:

Frances Potter
John Potter, of New Haven

Frances's correct husband is John Potter, of New Haven, and John's correct wife is Elizabeth Rose. I think John and William may be brothers that got merged in to one another at some point in the past. I've got it almost completely sorted out except breaking Frances and John's marriage, which I can't do for some reason.

Laura, I completed your mergers, but the tree is confusing. Could you look at it and write back here or send me a message on what else is needed? They are still connected, but the John (or William) and William are confusing.

LOL, I didn't see it at first - William French, of Billerica is married to John Stearns.
No idea how it should look. But this additional info should be of some use. I'm betting that they have a wife in common, and someone mismerged a husband into the wife.

Okay, I shall keep merging!! I think that it's very good to work this way..."merge then purge". :))

At least it wasn't John Steamy... then you'd have yourself a Steamy-French wedding somewhere in the past. Oh, State of Hawaii... there is nothing new under the sun...

Sorry, Brendan--it is confusing! The one labeled "John (or William)" should actually just be John--I've fixed that now. Here are the correct couples:

John Potter, of New Haven
Elizabeth Rose
Elizabeth's connections to Edward Parker and Robert Rose are also correct; they were her second and third husbands.

As a further note: I was able to merge in a new copy of Frances Child that had the correct husband (William Potter) listed and break her connection to John Potter. But these profiles should be made master profiles if possible to prevent this from happening again. I don't know why John and William are so easily confused for one another but they definitely are!

Alastair; most of them are done expect the ones that were attached to a red warning :

"These profiles are in different trees.

Caution: Merging these profiles will merge their trees and could require merging other duplicate profiles.

The managers haven't been online for months and the profiles are already in the big tree.

Those merges did not process correctly.

I think you need to be a Curator to merge the successfully.

I think one ore two was private!!

Hey all...can someone look at George Washington from the back end? When you click his profile link from a project, the URL changes to a deleted merge link, and the page loads as "we are experiencing difficulties".

I noticed earlier this week that his picture was not loading to the project pages, so went to his profile, and I believe there was some conflicting data and a pending merge that i wasn't able to resolve.

Working on batch #2 -- Ethel Mary Buchanan -- one is living, one is dead. Be sure to resolved conflicting data on that one.
Same for Erskine Grant-Dalton, Gertrude Buchanan, and several others in this list.

#1 was done before I got to it. What a great team we have!
