Thank you Kevin - I think that did it. Most of my g. grandparents profiles' returned to say they were my grandparents again. I think the system is taking time to correct because the profiles only change back to say grandfather or grandmother when I click "how are you related". Two of my grandparents profile still say "uncle" and "wife" but I think they switch back when or if I am ever asked again to click "how are you related".

No problem. The date of birth did not fit.

Kevin: You cannot cut connections on profiles from that time period just because dates does not match. Sources from that period does never contain dates - especially on women, - but some insist on fabricating/estimating a date and when profiles get merged with different estimates you get results like that (it still says she got children before she was born).

I assume that the "source" for this profile comes from places like: http://myriddellfamilytree.mysocialgeekspace.com/getperson.php?pers...

Unfortunately some also insist on having a name on on her, and this name is obviously fabricated by someone who have no clue because Halvdan is a male name.

Eldon Lester Clark I agree it's a match, but I also agree with Martin's comment. You get well within the privacy zone where close family is involved. Since there are no ancestors listed and only 6 profiles in question, I'd just concentrate on trying to find his parents if possible.

Erica and Martin, In the case of the people in the project, most of them were young men in 1945 and there is not much info on them other than their names. You really have to dig to get anything at all so even the 6 profiles of siblings and mother are a great help.

I understand. Aren't you glad the 1940 census is being released? :)

Maybe one in twenty in the archives has a home town so that will not be much help :-(

I've made those two George Agustus's as Master Profiles so they don't accidentally get merged with each other. It would be great if you or Joyce could add something from your sources to support the profile info. (I did find a passing reference to a more precise birth date for the English George, but that was a cached Google result and the reference is not currently responding.)

Mike Stangel,- she just answered me on a Geni message, so the problem might be that she is trying to reply on a message from a closed account or someone blocking her. Could you make a check?

Bjørn those things wouldn't cause the reply link to be frozen... sounds like a JavaScript problem to me, which wouldn't be surprising on IE7.

She says that the problem is random and there is some display problems as well and get s dashed black line around a link when clicking it.

I have had it for 2 days - but just now - if I gently put the Cursor over part of the reply or forward - it works OK

What caused the recent change to a tiny part of the word link - I do not know !

That sounds like one of our assets servers isn't accessible... similar to what Lauri reported over the weekend. They're all fine from here, so I'm not sure how I'm going to debug that problem. :-/

Thanks Peter, that would NOT be the assets server; I'll see if maybe it's related to translation of those links.

Does anybody know how to upload photos in a project so that they appear and stay in a certain order? I've scanned the unnumbered pages of a booklet and to read the book you have to look at the photos so its important that they appear in order from the cover to the back of the booklet. Geni's advanced uploader loads them backwards. Do I have to delete the album and rescan them backwards and then re-upload them so they appear correctly?

Why not make a document file with the images and upload it as a document? - if you make a PDF file you also get a preview of it.
