Private User -- If I might suggest:
... start a discussion about the issues of this family tree under Epsy Ann Brown (Mims) profile (rather than continuing it here) so the details will sort of stay documented with the profile(s) in that area.
... scan / link / upload the primary documents and cite the facts shown in all the relevant profiles in that area.
... then, ask a curator to make some of the key profiles (the ones that get confused / mis-connected) into Master Profiles so that future merges can't be done without approval.
I just plainly made a bad merge.... or maybe it was a data conflict that I did and it should not have been done... Can someone help me undo it?

There may be some intergenerational problems here... It is from the Beery line, any opinion from curators? What do you all think?

I was about to merge these 2 Ann Hill Tallman Durfees, when I discovered that one of them also had Henry Tallman as another husband. I know this has to be incorrect, as there were no Henrys that as a son of Peter Tallman b. 1623. Peter Tallman had a father named Henry. So I am not going to merge, but maybe some how we can fix this before someone else comes in to do something to it? I sure do not want a mix up in this line, which is finally looking ship shape. Here is the link that I do not want to mess up by merging.

I am also worried about this... I do not see how it is possible to have that many children beginning in 1806 and ending in 1894. I feel there must be one mother who does not belong in this line... the father has 2 wives, and all these children. It is in the Stark line. Are there any here who are familiar with the Stark line?

You guys are going to be so sick and tired of me posting here, but I found another problem in the Gridley line. Here we have 2 fathers with the same death date but not the same B. date. but the big problem here is that both children were born after the death of both of the fathers listed. Maybe we should disconnect both fathers?

Hi,
I am having some problems with people who instead of mergiing their profiles with others, will deleted my profiles so they don't have to deal with merging. I placed a ticket about this on Geni and they suggested that I should asked the curators to take care odfthus. The one is question right now is Private User she deketed over 10 of my profiles. Please do something. It is really a nusance to undelete and find out the nest dat day that they will delete it again. Thank you for your help.
Keep up the good work.
Sincerely
Cecil

I deleted a my family tree for the family tree because someone, probably you, wrote it wrong.
I understand that it is possible to merge but do not know how.
There is no need in two Solly Green and since he is my father I would love it if you delete the second or merge.
There is no need to fight or be so angry. We are family!
thank you very much
vered
Vered,
You will not be able to complete the merges because you are a Basic (or free) member. You would need the help of a Pro (or premium) member or a Curator to complete merges. Cecil IS a Pro member and complete merges if the profile is not private.
If I read your post correctly, Solly Green is your father. Solly would be in your maximum family group (MFG). You would normally keep your MFG private. Cecil would not be able to complete that merge if your profile is private. The solution then, is to invite each other into your family group, then either of you could complete the merge.
Deleting a profile that YOU yourself did not create is a bad idea. It destroys links and information that you may not be aware exists on the profile or on the family members of that profile. Repeated deletions is considered vandalism and can bring about suspension of membership.
As you said, Vered, you are family. The whole purpose of Geni is to build one big tree that shows we are ALL family.

Private User If you have been on Geni for 'some years' you will be aware that they used to have continually present a bi-line "Everyone's Related" What did you think that meant? I don't think anyone can say Geni weren't up front about making one world tree from the start it's just that at the start the big trees had not yet joined up to form just one very big tree. There are still big trees that have not yet hooked up to the main Big Tree but it is just a matter of time.
