sorry for confusion..... Did you merge it ?
Also, free on Ancestry this week, Japanese interment camp records (1942-1946), Japanese American relocation records (roughly same years) and Canadian vital records.

WE have a missing generation here, http://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000002649946828#600000000...
Elizabeth de Berkeley should be the grandmother of the 5 Lygon's shown as her children
Their father should be Henry Ligon Jr. birth: Abt 1735 ,Prince Edward,Virginia,USA death: Abt 1778,Prince Edward,Virginia,USA
Their mother should be Elizabeth MNU birth: 20 JAN 1700 death: Aft 1793 ,Prince Edward,Virginia,USA .
What is the best and easiest way to correct this?
Ann, Martin, that is what I suspected. Now what do we do with all the stacked profiles. Some of the older ones are Mormon pioneers. Should we cancel all the pending merges or what? This is where I found them but I'm sure there are many more.

I think there are some intergenerational problems here. Did not see it coming when I first started out with some merges. Now it is apparent. It is the Tilghman line. By the way this is a prominent name in Maryland, USA.

Sally Thomas re: Tilghman's of 1300-1500.
With nothing other than the information in the "About" and the few dates, I'm not seeing anything obviously 'mis-connected' within the 4-5 generations of descendants.
If anything, there might be at least one generation missing between the 1350 Richard and the 1500 Thomas, but without other sources, it's all conjecture.
The main possible issue I see (but is just pure conjecture) may be in the multiplicity of wives of some of the males (e.g.: some explicitly "Unkown" [sic] vs. empty (non-existent) spousal profiles and the resulting implication of half-brothers vs. full-brothers (e.g.: the 1350 Richard)>
Now, when one gets down to Christopher Tilghman, Sr. of 1570 and generations below his parents, there seem to be some mis-connections.
This might be a situation where it may be easier to unravel from the "bottom up" (rather than the "top down", which is sometimes simpler).
For example, this Christopher (Christopher ‘the immigrant’ Tilghman, Jr.) has a son born about the same time (if not slightly earlier). And some of the men have many partners which might be a result of mis-merging, too. That's why I think it might be better to unravel from the 'bottom up' (or at least from the point where more of the people's families have some better documentation than currently is shown in Geni).
I very much agree with Dan's proposed methodology. The further back in time one goes, the murkier and more obscure the documentation (unless a King of England). The generations 1575-1640 are especially important to clarify as there are spurious pedigrees in circulation for Great Migration immigrants to America - that find their way into online trees from old books continuously.
I have noticed that on my family tree which is and always has been private there has been multiple revisions made to various living and dead members on the tree. What on earth is going on in this site that allows this ???

I think you'll find that your tree can only be completely private back to fourth generation unless you purposely mark each profile you input further back than that as private. These Dene profiles are public profiles. You can tell this easily at a glance by the little green globe on the profile page. The living members is a little strange unless they were distantly related. Would you care to give urls?
Pretty sure there is a mix of either different generatrions here or different lines... I do not have enough info to straighten it out... Can any one else take a look at it? it is the Hunter line

Thanks for the fourth generation information that is public, Woe this!!!! in my family line I have multiple generations that shared the same name, Now I have complete strangers deleting these ancestors or merging them thinking they are duplicate names when they are not and so inadertantly wrecking my family tree through their meddling!. Frankly I am about to delete my 2,300 year family tree from this site as it is being ruined by people who have no right to be altering my family tree without my permission, yet can due to this site allowing them to. Most angry about this. It is MY family tree, MY HARD WORK which created it over 30 years and it is being ruined, changed, re worked and there is nothing I can do to stop it
I was hoping someone could add the following profiles to the http://www.geni.com/projects/Mormon-Pioneers-1861 project for me:
Martha Wilcox
Samuel Allen Wilcox, Sr.
John Dingman Wilcox
Thanks a bunch!
Erica, I often MP in families with repeating names just to keep people from merging the wrong generations, etc. It IS a wonderful tool.
The Curator creating the MP can add a note in the Curator text box about the similar names. This text box shows up in the side-by-side view when reviewing merges. It works, people, it works. So, find a Curator who knows your part of the tree and work with them to create the MPs you need in your part of the tree to prevent mis-merges.
