Curators, I have a problem with someone zealously merging a profile without noticing that the individuals lived in two different centuries.
Could someone please detach Mary Mumford from John Mumford and their reported children? Her other marriage to John Mumford with issue William Mumford is correct.
Thank you

Caroline- He was sent back to the correct century

Thanks Marvin

Brenda G Garvin - Click on the name (in blue), to go to the Profile in question. If it is a claimed Profile, click on "Send a Message" (upper part of profile, right-hand side). Otherwise, click on "Contact Profile Manager" (same basic location) -- this sends a message to the Primary Manager. If this does not get a response in a reasonable time, you can look to see if there are other managers, click on one and send that person Geni-Message; OR - again, if no response to Primary Manager, if a public Profile, you can look to see if the Primary Manager has any Collaborators, geni-Message one of them -- perhaps asking to know who is a contact within the family and actually knows about it, since not all collaborators (or Managers, for that matter) are particularly familiar with all the Profiles they Manage or Collaborate on. But this should allow you to get in touch, if the folks are still active and willing to be responsive. I thoroughly agree with your approach, and sending a message may well get more response than just the merge-suggestion. My experience, the more you give some info explaining your connection and interest, the more likely a response.

Good evening... We seem to have an intergenerational problem here, in the WEEKS line
http://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000001322142333?resolve=6...
anyone? Someone in the know about the weeks family?

Thanks Private User

Would someone please check for last online (No Name)
No activity shown and no response to merge requests.

Private User

Gunnar,
I just reported her.
She hasn't been online for years :-(

It's an abandoned GEDCOM upload from August 31, 2008 and never logged in on, but 1,074 of 1,759 seem to be released once and I seem to be the manager of some of them.

The account seem to be reported already.

Any examples of pending merges?

Nope, - private profiles and there are 5 Geni users within the family group so I cannot use the Check Public curator tool.

Unfortunately none of them are Pro users who can merge or approve a merge of the profiles.

Gender of Isaac Samuel is incorrect, showing as female.
A male profile has been added, connected to his wife Elizabeth Louise Samuel.

I don't know how to detach the female version of Isaac.

Could someone please help.

Isaac Samuel

Thanks

Edit of Isaac changed the gender

Anyone know, truly, if this lady, is dead or alive? Isabella Potter...
http://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000015146747830?return=duplic...

re: Isabella Potter... her husband Robert's private profile (in the match) shows a death date of c. 1988, but without any other dates, it's hard to guess. (Beside which the merge needs the cooperation of one of the private profile managers.)

The Find-A-Grave for Robert Potter d. in 1988 matches 4 entries; however, none of those 4 cemeteries match the 20 matches found for Isabella Potter, so, again, not much help to decide.

One needs a few more dates in surrounding profiles, or likely locations, or ....

ok, Dan... thanks...

I don't suppose that there anything we can do about this?

http://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000006823419601?return=duplic...

Sally, sorry, not that i can see. Even though it's a match and the profile represents someone born in 1776, erroneously marked as "living," only th manager or someone in the claimed family group can fix the error.

Yep, that is what I thought... oh well.... Thanks anyway....

What is your opinion of this.... a go? or not?
http://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000012750848201?return=duplic...

Sally Thomas,

I think that it is a go.

Kevin

Are there any "Hardy" experts here? I think we have an intergenerational problem here....

http://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000006720472459?resolve=6...

ok, Kevin then I will "go" :-)

re: Edward Payne tree conflicts.

By dismissing the pending merges with the private profiles, and then selecting the "public" parents of the resulting duplicate parent pairs, then the public tree looks a lot cleaner

-- and (in this case) without any apparent loss of information (that is, the "match" views did not show that the private profiles had any more details than the public profiles)

Also, a silly question... I suppose, is Experience a man's name or a woman's?
http://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000002172644793?return=duplic...

Kevin, what do you think about this... locastions bother me...
http://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000002172644793?return=duplic...

Sally,

It is up to you if you do the merge or not.

Well, I thought I would ask your input since they are your profiles, or at least one of them is.... I hesitate only because I am unsure, and we are collaborators. I will look at it again later.

The name Experience can be either a man or a woman.

Sally Thomas Locations are good, thomas died 1823

ok, umn.... that´s good to know. thank you. But that sure makes things a bit more tricky when one is trying to sort things out. :-(
