o.k. ... I've just been refreshing myself with what's in this Tallman area --

Sally: It looks like you've been creating a somewhat duplicate lineage up through Benjamin Tallman-1684, son of Peter Tallman-1623. Am I correct in assuming you did this to clarify the relationships for yourself? There is already a whole cluster of M.P.'s around the Peter Tallman-1623 set of profiles.

One item to take care of next, as I see it, is to have a curator remove the spousal connection between Henry & Maria. In particular, on this profile of Henry: Henry Tallman ... to remove the spousal relationship with Maria (leaving only the one with Anna).

That ought to leave Peter Tallman-1623 as still having the ambiguous parentage (two sets), but at least with no relationship between them (leaving two distinct pairs: Henry+Anna and Maria+Peter-1582).

Let's get that done first before dealing further with grandparents and/or children for Peter-1623.

Don,
I have been felt pretty clear on the Tallman lineage for quite a long time. I just re-did everything from John Tallman and back, back to the father, Benjamin, then to Benjamin's father, Peter 1623. It is at Peter where there is a problem, which all of my prior posts here explain. Peter should have 2 separate lines. a set of parents Henry and Anna and another separate set, Jacques and Tanneken. Hopefully my particular line is going to reflect my belief that the research done by Morarity has more credibility than what was revealed in the Boyer publication, who also apparently also has more than one doubt about what he found out of Salt Lake City. At least that is what I read into what he reported, which was posted here.

Sally just a reminder I originally made many of those profiles MPs with direction from you, so if you agree with Dan, just let me know what you would like done.

Just message me.

Dan H Cornett I think your suggestion is a good idea .
I am curious as to where this will end up. There is a ton of info on Tallman. Maybe with all the info passing passing back and forth a project for Tallman could be started as a place to put sources and documents ...ttfh

Dan, Unfortunately I do not have scan here, and can only type word by word what the sources say. But anyone who has these same sources can check and see the veracity of what I have typed. I have been putting my source info, word by word and where the words came from in the about me section of the profiles, the profiles that I have put in myself, here..

I have just found a strange situation. I am the only manager of this profile of a person who died December 23 1984 but somehow joined Geni May 27, 2009. His tree which seems to all be private ad goes back at least 8 generations into the early 1700s.
I will be glad to take management of these.
Richard Winston Malley

You have earlier stumbled over a handful of his public profiles which had been released after one year of inactivity, and because of an error? in Geni you also became the manager of his profile, probably because it was not fully claimed (i.e permanent password is not set) and that he is marked as desceased

It seem to be an abandoned GEDCOM upload never logged in on, and he is still the manager of 1204 profiles.

You can try to report him as an abandoned tree or claimed historical(?) profile (died in 1984), but I doubt that the profiles will be released because all of them are private profiles. There is however no Geni users within that tree and nobody would ever be able to join that tree.

Private User this may be how it happened, A conection to the big tree

Nope, - A pending merge is not a connection. It is two years ago since Geni went away from profiles staking - making them connected, when requesting a merge.

You are the manager of 10 of his profiles, probably because you found them without a manager and requested it. The tree got probably get connected in this area where you are the primary manager of this profile Thomas Holden.

Here is something in my tree conflict list which i think cannot be merged, I think we are dealing with 2 different profiles for John Atwood, the parent... dates are really out of sync. Are they any Atwood or Wood people out here who might be able to fix the problem? Take a look please and see what you think?

re: Atwood / Wood

Here is one source which might help:

http://books.google.com/books?id=OBbq13eCddYC&pg=PA719&dq=C...

... see starting on page 720. It seems there are at least 3 separate lineages of Atwood's from England to the Colonies in that mid 1600's era.

Here is another 'reference' (not a source...): http://www.bransoncook.systemaxonline.com/gedcoms/atwood/pafg02.htm...

===============

What I'm wondering about is just how many of the those "Wood" and "Atwood" children, which are linked-to Henry Wood, really belong there and does Henry Wood really connect with either of the two John Atwood fathers? There are a lot of profiles without any dates in that area and with the typical repetition of the same first names among many closely-related families.

I have also asked the managers of the two "John Atwood"s which died c. 1686 if they have any info outside of Geni about the descendants which might help untangle this.

Is there an existing "Atwood" discussion? Perhaps we ought to move this "untangling Atwoods" into a discussion under one of those profiles in that area.

re: my previous: the google book is also a reference, not really a primary source.

Thank you, Dan... I think I will just avoid this for a while. The Tallman and Baker lines are really important to me, I really would like to give that a higher priority on my list. i will wait on Atwood and Wood for further work by someone who is more closely tied to that, and who has that line high on their priority list. So, I am going to let it lie. I really have to pick and choose here since my time on internet is very restricted by the one and only isp I have here in the boonies of Panama.

How can I merge my fiance to the same person? He is not a Pro account, and I can't seem to figure out how to do it. I log on as him, but it won't let me merge without upgrading, and he could frankly care less.
Unknown Profile

Here is the other one of him

Private

Private User They are Private so only family can do a merge.

@Barbara Jean Shepard, Just to elaborate on what Eldon said... if you add him to your family group then you should be able to sort it (and any other problems on his tree) out yourself.

Private User -- send your Fiance an invite - by entering in his e-mail on the Profile for him on your Tree, using the same e-mail address as he uses on his Tree. Long after they had stopped letting Basic approve merges, they were still letting them accept these invites AND then approve the merge of themselves. As far as a I know, they still are.

If he has a fully claimed profile, I think they will not allow you to do the merge - a person must approve merging of his own Profile.

Do not know if they consider "fiance" to be Famil; , if not, then even after the above, you may want to add him to your family group (this is Mutual, and requires his agreement to the request that Geni will then send to him), especially if there are other overlapping Profiles and/or you want to see each other's family.

@Terry Jackson & Lois Lubin, thanks, I will get it done today.

Sally, someone has done those already.

Yes, I saw it, Thanks Terry.

@Aaron Frazer, index #5384052801160127285, dob 1776.
Have been trying to assign parents for Aaron Frazer dob 1776. His mother is suppose to be Jane Condry, father suppose to be Aaron Frazier dob 1745.
Contacted Geni Help and was advised to post on this discussion for assistance.
Thank You,
Denise

If you put double square brackets around the identification number, you get a link to the profile.

Private User - done. It would help if you attached sources and put some basic information and source references in the About Mes for Aaron Frazier DOB 1745 and Jane Condry. Do you have evidence (references or family information) for Jane Condry versus Sarah Condry for instance?

It helps avoid mismerges or wrong spouses to document profiles with attached sources and good About Mes.

Thank You Hatte!
Great suggestion, will do!
Denise

Excellent Denise. I am going back to the profiles I worked on when I first joined Geni and making sure that their About Mes having good information in them, just in case they do get merged or someone adds another spouse or extra children. With the early American families, this happens all the time. Also, where there are controversies or open questions, you can ask for a profile to be MPed with Curator's Notes documenting the unresolved issues.

I'm not as good about sources as others, but images and PDFs can be attached to document birth, death, marriage, children, etc. I have online books or sources for a lot of my profiles, so I generally put a link in the About Me. Or a reference with a page number, if the online book is not free. For example Families of Early Milford, Connecticut which is an excellent source and which I paid to use from Google Books.

Hatte, I have been updating my older profiles as I come across them. I was always one who pasted a note and link on the overview, but now I am taking those links and creating proper sources.

Denise, the source tool is so easy to use. Believe me, it was not always so! Ask any of your friendly Curators if you need help.

Would someone please see if this person is active or am i requesting merges on an abandoned tree.
