Eldon,
I turned on the Zombie Hunter. Have a look at the results ;-)

I will have a look at this Westphal tree too as I have this name in my tree, they might be related to my Westphals :)

Private User Looks like that worked, thanks

Deborah ROWE Prescott you will probably need to contact Geni help with her details (+ e-mail) we certainly cant' help with such limited information.

I continue to have this in tree conflicts list... Same problem as before with the Tallman line. I cannot merge a peter tallman of 1623, and this Peter is well documented all over the place, with a MP profile of Peter Tallman of 1607. Why is this Peter Tallman 1607 in the same generation of Peter Tallman of 1623. There continues to be a problem here. Can someone figure out where this MP Peter Tallman 1607 belongs? and put him where he belongs?
Please see...
http://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000001232036304?resolve=6...

We have some duplicate master profiles there, and not even curators are wallowed to merge master profiles unless one of them are de-mastered.

Angus Wood-Salomon - can you remove the MP status on the single-managed profiles there?

Well, the tallman line is driving me nuts. I have the following children (listed here for clarification by wives) of Peter Tallman b. 1623.
Ann Hill (durfee)
1. Mary Tallman d. 1720, m. c John Pearce of Portsmouth and Bristol, RI
2. Elizabeth Tallman, d. may 20, 1701, m. 1674 Isaac Lawton of Portsmouth
3. Peter Tallman, d. July 6, 1726, m. Ann Walstone, they moved to CT. I have no info on her parentage.
4. Susanna Tallman, no dates of birth and death, m. Joseph Beckett (Beckwith) lived in Lyme, CT.
Ann Tallman, m. 1st March 8, 1678/9 Stephen Brayton of Portsmouth; and 2nd William Potter. I have no mention of a 3rd marriage to anyone named Lee.
5. Daughter, d. bef. 1732; m. c. 1684 William Wilbur of Portsmouth and Little Compton, RI

Joan Briggs
1. Jonathan Tallman, d. 1762; m. c. 1789, Sarah unknown, moved to Westport (Old Dartmouth) MA in 1710.
2. James Tallman, d. 1724; m. 1st March 18, 1689/90 Mary unknown, m. 2nd Hannah Swain..
3. John Tallman, d. c. 1709; m. c. 1693 Mary (probably Thomas)
4. daughter (Probably named Mary) m. 1689 Israel Shaw of Littel Compton, RI
5. Benjamine Tallman, b. Jan 28, 1684/5; d. May 20, 1759; m. 1st Sept. 23, 1708, Patience Durfee; 2nd June 7, 1724, Deborah Cook (this deborah cook is important to my line and was for a time missing in some of the Tallman lines of others, I have returned her, and her parents, to her place in order to get the her in the world wide tree)
Esther (Mars)
1. Samuel Tallman, b. Jan 14, 1697/8, alive on May 3, 1709
2. Joseph Tallman, b. c. 1691; d. Apr. 13, 1756; m. Dec 1, 1713, Joanna Mayhew, moved to New London, CT
Authorities for this info is: New England Historica and Genealogical Register, vols. 69 and 85; Aspinwall Notarial Records; Austin's Genealogical Dict. of Rhode Island; Arnold;s Vital Records of RI, Colonial Records of CT, vol. 1; Records of New Amsterdam, 1653-1674, vols. 1 and 2; Banks' History of Mart5ha's Vineyard vol 2; Plymouth Colony Records (printed copy) vol. 5; town records of Portsmouth, RI [This info was compiled and prior to 1935, when it was then published by William M. Emery]

Also, I have a document which I question. It is a hand typed document from Media Research Bureau of 1110 F Street, Washington, DC using the following bibliography
"Bardsley, English and Welsh Surnames 1901; Savage, Genealogical Dectionary of New England, 1860; Rickford, Tolman Family, 1894; Roe. Genealogy pof Wells and Allied Families, 1892; The descendants of Mary Townley Lawrence and Timoth Talman, 190_; Heitman, Officers of the Continental Army, 1914; The Americana, 1934; Burke, General Armory, 1884" (no page numbers are listed)

The name of the document is "The Name and Family of Tal(l)man
As I said it is typed, and I believe it was comissioned by my great grandmother, Mary Tallman who was most interested in getting membership into the DAR. In this document the following is mentioned...
The author makes clear that there are 2 lines, one is Tolman and the other is Tallman. The Tolman line apparently is different than the Tallman.
"Probably the first of the family to emigrate to New England was Thomas Tolman, who was the son of Thomas, son of another Thomas Tolman, of Devonshire, England. This immigrant made his home at Dorchester, Ma about 1630, or shortly thereafter, and had issue by his first wife Sarah, of Thomas, Sarah , Mary, Ruth, Hannah, John and Rebecca. The name of his second wife is not certain. Some historians state that it was Sarah, while others assert that it was Katherine. It is probably that Thomas had no further issue by this second marriage. Thomas Tolman, elder son of the immigrant Thomas, was married in 1664 to Elizabeth Johnson, by whom he was the father of Thomas, Mary, Samuel and Daniel.
John, younger son of the immigrant Thomas married Elizabeth Collins in 1666 and had issue by her of Elizabeth, John, Joseph, Benjamin, Henry, Ann, Ebenezer, Ruth, and William. It is thought probable that he had no further issue by his second wife the widow Mary (nee Brock) Paul, whom she married in 1692.

Sometime before 1655 a Peter Talman or Tallman made his home at Newport, RI By his first wife Ann he had a least one son named Peter and probably others as well, including a son named James.
Peter, son of the immigrant Peter was married in 1683 to Ann Walstone, who gave him three children, Elizabeth, Ebenezer, and Peter, and possibly others.
James, probably son of the Immigrant Peter resided at Portsmouth, RI, and was married to Mary Devoll in 1689. Their children were John, Joseph (died young), and Elizabeth. In 1701 he married a second wife Hannah Swain, who gave him further issue of Stephen, Mary, Peter, Jemima, James, Jeremiah, Silas, Joseph and Hannah.

Benjamin Tallman, whose ancestry is not certain but who is believed by some writers to have been of Dutch descent, made his home in Berkes County, PA, in the second half of the 18th century. After the end of the Rev War, he removed to Virginia with his wife, Diannh Boone, and their sons Samuel and William.

This info I feel may be questionable, no author is mentioned, mostly because my great grandmother had an agenda and that was to get into the DAR, and would have probably tied anything to get to that goal, include paying some outfit a sum to get info to suit her agenda.

I am just trying to figure out where the name Lee came from in Ann Tallman's name, Tallman was her maiden name and she was married to a William Potter (I have no date of B or D on him) and a Stephen Brayton, m. Mar 8, 1678/9. Was there another husband named Lee?

I called NHGS twice and the line gave me the message that they were occupied, I did however send an email asking if any further research has been done by them, other than the 1914 research by their committee on English and Foreign Research with George Andrews Moriarty as the chair. I asked them if they had any verification on any other research that was done on the parentage of Peter Tallman b. 1623. I hope I hear from them soon.

Is this the Pete ??

FnDuck, Yes, this is what I have. and that is the parentage that I have and that I have written to NHGS about, asking if they have any updates on their original research of 1914. I can find no place where there is a Peter Tallman b. 1607, and the Ann Lee also puzzles me. Nor can I find any Ruths, or Mercys as daughters of Peter Tallman b. 1623. There are other Tallman (Tolman) lines, and I sure hope we do not have them mixed up with the Peter Tallman line b. 1623. Some of those other lines came in during the wave of immigrants in the 1630's.

FnDuck, this cannot be merged, until the date of 1807 on Peter Tallman is the same as the correct Peter Tallman b. 1623. Should we not change that first?
http://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000001232036304?resolve=6...
I have no problem with the merging of Ann Hill, however.

FnDuck, Sorry for the typo, it should have been 1607, not 1807. I changed it, in any case.

Sally Thomas, - we have flagged that as an error to Geni in a curator discussion.

I just checked the first conflict: Since you both are a Pro and one of the managers of the main profile, and the second profile is/was managed by a collaborator of you, - me, and it is not a Master Profile (i.e. no locks) you should be able to resolve that conflict.

Another Stearns problem here... clearly full of intergenerational conflicts. Can a Stearns expert help me straighten it all out.? Please?
http://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000000350933094?resolve=6...

Sally,
I resolved the 3:00 PM list of data conflicts for you.

Yep, Ann... I just checked again, and the data conflicts are all gone! Thank you.

... but unfortunately before Geni had a chance to take a look on the error..

oh oh... well, maybe it will happen again, which I hope it does not :-)

Sally Thomas, Mr Peabody and his boy Sherman will be waking shortly. It would be great if your technical difficulties have been resolved so that you could post the url's of your data conflicts with the Tallman's. I have 3 definites already not including 36304. If you can tell me where you are in the Tallman mix ( you- f- gf-ggf-gggf or ggf or ggm )or relation to Mary Tallman, and where you want to be I may be able to dig up info to help you. It appears you have had some branches removed and grafted back in the wrong places.
The other option is to start cutting and chopping and let the Broxster straighten it out . (joke). The Wayback Machine is running pretty good and we need a diversion.....ttfn

FnDuck, I have been working on it as we speak. I am using William M. Emery's Honorable Peleg Tallman, 1764-1841, his ancestors and descendants, pub 1935; and am using a handwritten entry which was in the Thomas Family bible, written by Mary M Tallman my great grandmother. She indicates the father of William Tallman, b. 2/4/1761 was John Tallman, no date. and she indicates that William had the following children: Jemima, 12/19/1788; Hannah, 4/23/1789; James 4/9/1790; Ama, 3/25/1792; James, 12/26/1794; Mary , 10/27/1796; Asa Tallman, 7/9/1798

In order to do these (dates now correct) merges, the MP Ann Hill of GM needs to be de comissioned. Please check and you will see what I mean.

To all who might be interested... I did receive an email reply from NEHGS, what they told me was that I needed to pay them 50.00 to find out if the study (Moriarty) was legit and if it had been updated. I then called and spoke to a nice young man and I said no, that I was not willing to pay that amount just find out if the study was real and if it had been updated. He put me on hold and then came back to tell me that there really was a study done by George Andrews Moriarty in 1914, and it has been updated. It is archived. He suggested that I write a letter to Gary Boyd Roberts, who was on top of what Moriarty had done re: Peter Tallman. Of course I can do that, but it will a really long time to get there from Changuinola, panama where airmail letters frequently either never arrive at all, or get there anywhere between 1 to 3 months after the date of post. So, it is going to take a long time before I get my hands on any updates on this particular report. But I am going to do it.

Sorry, for calrity, the prior post refers to Peter Tallman 1623 research.

re: Ann Durfee (Hill) ... (from Sally Thomas) ... more specifically: there are two Master Profiles which seem to really be duplicates. A curator has to remove the Master profile of one (this one: Ann Tallman ) before the merge can be completed (here: http://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000014202810355?return=duplic... )

Gwyneth Potter McNeil duplicates have been merged into Ann Smith and Peter Tallman.

Press on with the Tallman line! Peter Tallman

I'm going to chase up the Hill line a bit - they might relate to my Hills (but probably not).

Sally Thomas,..
Was your GGM Mary a Tallman by birth or marriage. Where was she born and what was her father's name. You had several questions maybe this may help

I can find no place where there is a Peter Tallman b. 1607.
I can find nothing to indicate you are wrong put him in moth balls.

Ann Lee also puzzles me .
So what if she is the 4th and 10th child of Peter Tallman,Don't be puzzled... The only mention of a Lee is in the Boone Line containing Stevensons and is as follows Mary Bryant Stevenson m David Hinton Tallman Mary Bryant Hopkins m John Lee Stevenson, her 2nd cousin. However lurking in the shadows is Ann Lee the "Puzzler" and purported wife of Thomas Lee
Thomas Lee
He has no history and appears to be borrowing William Potter's wife and children. All I know of Ann Tallman is b. about 1658, m 8 Mar 1678/9 Stephen Brayton of Portsmouth. 5 children, m (2nd) William Potter. 3 children and the fact she is the daughter of Peter Tallman and his 1st wife Ann Hill (Ann's mother is also named Ann Hill and married (2nd) John Elton upon the death of her husband Phillip Hill). Maybe Ben Angel has secret info......NUKE the profile

Nor can I find any Ruths, or Mercys as daughters of Peter Tallman b. 1623.
There was in fact a Miss Ruth Tallman of Lakefield, Minn descended from Benjamin Tallman 12th child of Peter Tallman....Maybe Mercy is Mary Mercy TALLMAN wife of Israel Shaw daughter of Peter Tallman and Ann Hill,: Birth 1666 in Portsmouth, Newport, Rhode Island, USA : Death 1732 inLittle Compton, Newport, Rhode Island, USA
Maybe Ruth is Mercy Ruth Tallman no spouse daughter of Peter Tallman and Joan Briggs,: Birth 1674 inPortsmouth, Newport, Rhode Island, United States,: Death 1696 inLittle Compton, Newport, Rhode Island, United States.
The info from your GGM seems to be reliable. Benjamin Tallman and Dinah Boone appear right on the money
Benjamin Tallman sole surviving child of William Tallman and his wife Ann (Lincoln) Tallman, born 9 June 1745, in Berks Co., Pa., died 4 June 1820, about 1 mile NW of Canal Winchester, Ohio. Served two enlistments in Revolutionary Army. Married 9 Nov 1764, Dinah Boone, 1st cousin of Daniel Boone, daughter of Benjamin Boone, and his 2nd wife, Susannah ————. Dinah Boone was born 3 or 10 May 1749, in Berks Co., Pa., and died July 25, 1824, one mile NW of Canal Winchester, Ohio.
William Tallman: Birth ABT 1761 in Portsmouth, RI, USA: Death ABT 1820 son of John Tallman (1735-1807) and Mary Thomas ( 1732- ??) married to Hannah Chase (1769 – 1853) Asa matches as check ..... but wait there's more ...You may want to search Portsmouth, Bristol and Little Compton, RI as well as. Westport and Dartmouth, MA ..... Looks like Erica Isabel Howton has your merges all set .. so have a nice day.... ttfn
