Can someone translate the large amount of information associated with this MP Pierre Tremblay
I put some of it through BabelFish, and it quite frankly doesn't make sense in English. He is mmy 8th ggf, and I sure would like to know about his life. Thanks, Barbara or maybe someone has a link to this in English that they can add?

Angus Wood-Salomon is the curator of this profile, Barbara Jean. I'm tagging him in case there's anything he can add. The original curator has stepped down since the profile was created, and Angus kindly "adopted" it.
Lots of times when there's a strange "step" relationship in the path, it is due to an unfinished merge. I don't see one in her tree to cause that. I did complete some nearby merges and resolved her conflicting data, but I don't think they were causing the problem you are seeing.
Angus Wood-Salomon this is really bizarre. I know the French Canadians are a confusing group. Apparently they have confused GENI, also. My direct line starts at Noel Benoni Tremblay, upwards: Etienne Denis Tremblay, Louis Andrade Tremblay, Louis Tremblay, Pierre Seigneur les Eboulements & his wife Marie Madeleine Roussin, who are my 7th great grandparents.'
GENI has started off with Noel Benoni Tremblay, upwards, Marie Josephe Tremblay (Remilard), Marie Clothide Denis dit Lapierre, Josephe Denis dit Lapierre, Marie Denis/Goulet (Godin), all direct greatgrandparents of mine. BUT then GENI goes to the second husband of Marie Denis/Goulet (Godin), who is Louis Goulet, and up to Therese Roussin, Nicolas Roussin, & then OVER to Marie Madeleine Roussin, calling her my 7th great aunt's half sister. She was listed correctly as my 7th greatgrandmother at one time, but I can't say when it changed. I'm not sure this makes sense to you?
Angus Wood-Salomon GENI took a completely different path, but most of the path that GENI took, is actually direct ancestors of mine. They just went up another way, but definitely veered off at Louis Goulet the second husband of my direct 7th great grandmother, Marie Denis/Goulet (Godin), and completely ignored her first husband Pierre Denis dit Lapierre, who is my direct great grandfather. very confusing to explain, but I am looking at my private program in the pedigree view, and it is plain as day! haha
I am also curious about the way GENI decides what my relationship to a person is. The current line I'm working on (descendants of Deacon Daniel Green ) were all listed as cousins as Daniel Green is a direct forbear, but then I merged with a spouse's duplicate and now the path is no longer direct and is routed through that spouse (the spouse is a slightly closer relation). So now the relationships look as if I am really not related by blood to these people at all! I know differently, of course, but it would be nice to see the most direct relationship to a forbear displayed.
"Understanding Relationships and How Geni Computes This" -- Ditto
For example: I assume it checks multiple spousal paths ... but does it give preference to "blood lineage" or to "shortest path" ... and if there is a tie in path length, how does it select which one?
How does it decide when to "quit checking"? Does it build paths "breadth-first" or ... ?
Knowing how the algorithm works could help to find out when and where connections "go awry" in the tree.
This may be of interest to pdf and skype users. The two url's below have detailed information concerning a spam and phishing campaign that has been around for quite some time. It resurfaces on a regular basis and I received it again this week . The email appears as PDF 2012 with an activation code for free pdf and skype upgrades to your existing software. Don't go there !! You can get the info about it at these 2 url's if you wish to read about it.

David Lee Kaleita a profile you curate : Marguerite Boudrot is listed with 3 husbands, I only believe she has 2, Francois Bourg 1644-1684, and Jean Babnineau 1648-1741. I see no connection to Michel Poirier. She is listed in the 1671 & 1678 census with Francois Bourg, she has 7 children with him, the last one being born the year of his death (1684) at age 42. She then marries Jean Babineau in 1691, and has 1 daughter with him. They are listed in the 1693 census, and his stepson, Pierre Bourg is living with them. Should you or I cut her loose from Michel Poirier?
David Lee Kaleita thanks so much, I thought I was NUTS! I know the French Canadians are a mess, what with all the Marie's as a first name.
We need some additional help with these trees.

Fred Bergman (dutch curator) did some work on these trees for me, but gave up because there were so may duplicates and managers.
It would be better if is was handled by people more familiar with this part of the tree.
