ok, well rather than make matters worse, I will leave it alone and let closer family members deal with it. Luckily I stopped after the one merge, so it shouldn't be too difficult to put back together.
And, I don't mean to tell you things you don't already know, but this underscores what a BIG problem it is not to be able to undo a merge. This is the first time I've made this mistake, but really, how many problems are being created in the tree with all of the incorrect merges having to be rebuilt. Really not good! Like many others, I have stopped inviting people to my family tree -- it's really not the free vs pro issue for me -- new members won't really know the difference, if they're interested, they will join -- it's just that there are too many problems with the whole geni platform. Really a shame.
Could someone please explaine how this merge can be completed -

The text on the private profile says: "You may view this profile to contact the manager or perform other actions."
Try it, - and ask for example if the user can perform the merge or consider making the profile public giving you as a Pro user access to check the match closer and merge it.
You may also suggest that you become extended family group members temporary to be able to merge other profiles connected to that one and still keep them as private profiles.
Take a closer look: one of the profiles is private, Anna Sophia Elisabeth Thompson, and not even curators have access to merge it. When it comes to merging public profiles you have the same access rights as the curators since you are a Pro user.
The only thing a curator can do is to see when that manager last was logged in, and my answer above was based on that.
Just be patient, - not everyone are logged in every day and can respond immediately.
There are by the way 10 users within the family group of that profile which have access to merge or make it public, and by tagging it in this message some of them might respond.
Can someone please merge these profiles?

thank you kindly.
His wives are different..
Clara A Stickney
Over and above that
Clara A Billings Cogswell
is private and we cannot make it public..
I should have mentioned that George F W Billings one of the profiles you wanted merged is also private and managed by Sandra Lee Sullivan
I believe there is a problem with this...
http://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000005911814864?resolve=6...
because if any merges are done with this we are going to mix 2 entirely different lines.
The correct line is here

Swaine is not the same as Swane or Swan
The John Swaine is from a different location and is not married to Ann Trumbull
Trumbull was married to a Richard Swan, not John Swaine who had also a different set of dates than Ricard Swaine in addition to a different locale
Also, I am not so sure that this is right either

Could some please check? Thank you kindly.
Hi Sally I found Unknown Profile
She is married to Robert Swan
http://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000000436641291
If you compare the two Ann Trumbulls
http://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000007226168375?return=duplic...
Is it possible there were two Ann Trumbulls?

I don't see her father as John Swaine.
Do you have a link to that Juliana Swan
Is it possible you are speaking of Juliana Swan
not
notice one is Juliana the other Julian without the 'a'
Your 5:58 post is target, I believe.
Julian Swan b. 1633, married to Sam Stickney b. 1631 should not be confused with Juliana Swan b. 1569, m. to Robert Swan b. 1564. Juliana was wife 1 to Robert Swan, Anne Trumbull b. 1578 was wife 2 to Robert Swan. I do not believe there were 2 Ann Trumbulls in 2 separate lines, Swaine vs Swan,
Could someone please tell me why this profile -
Lieut. Hamilton Ross
doesn't show in the results when I search for Hamilton Ross?
Hey Brendan... you have added the profile only yesterday. This is how it works. The indexes at Geni are not refreshed continuously, only a few times a week. It may take a few days before it shows. Annoying, I know, but I think it has to do with the fact that refreshing the indexes is very compute intensive and may impact the overall performance of Geni.
